I really do struggle with this avatar removal business, I can not see the point in it and I think its a rather silly rule but I suppose like everyone I have to abide by the rules but that does not mean I have to agree with them

I have been a member on here for 2 1/2 years and never in that time have I been warned or banned I have enjoyed the forum banter met some really nice people but I now think its time to call it a day.



I think this "put your picture" up has been a total failure with very few doing this (not even the admins do it)



Anyway thats me done, enjoy the forum and I will keep in touch with my friends by other means.

We have been reading the forum but not signing in and participating for a long while now but I had to comment on this one.



Really what harm is there in having an avatar rather than an actual pic, none that I can see, using an avatar associated with or depicting your username could be quite amusing and put some colour into the forum when you see some of them (personal thought) I presume they are still allowed.

In fact it seems quite strange now not seeing them there, Rowlo and Turtle the forum posts are starting to look quite clinical now is that the desired result!!!



If izzet is dead set on this and wants people to put thier pics on here then surely ALL mods should set the example and post thier pics.



Turtle, you get quite a bit of entertainment value out of this forum but not nearly as much as you give, cmon hang around a while longer.

I understand where you are coming from, but it does seem a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face, if you have enjoyed the forum as much as you say you have. Obviously, you are going to be sorely missed, so why not reconsider. You could always have your photo taken wearing a turtle outfit. I am sure there are some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle outfits in fancy dress shops somewhere. You would wear a mask. My favourite, Donatello, the gentlest and the scientist wears a purple mask, a lovely colour which would obliterate most of your face - not that I am suggesting that your face needs obliterating, but if you are feeling shy .....

This forum has been 'hacked' in the past and anybody can access it.



You can read back over people's posts and with a bit of detective work figure out where there are, and or where they own in north cyprus.



With the political and legal minefield that is the TRNC at this present time imo anyone other than holders of Turkish title deeds would be absolute fools to post their pictures on here but each to their own.



As some others have said, the rule about avatars and other pictures not being allowed is just plain STUPID And whoever thought it up and continues to maintain this ridiculous stance ought to consider entering politics as like them no proper answers to reasonable questions are ever given.

Somebodies photo is on my profile but it isn't mine. I sent one to izzet but somehow I ended up with the Bob hope/Ataturk love child again. I asked for that to be removed 3 months ago because I don't kniow where it came from but it is back again. That was the reason I had removed my photo from before Vicki. My original had changed from a personal photo to the one I have now and the explanation I recieved on how this happened was that "I put it on yours by mistake instead of the correct persons".

I have now seen it on about 4 peoples profiles and yet it has come back to me again.



So even though I agree that it is all silly bitching about wanting to show your photo can we please have it sorted out.

As for the charity donation AJ, if and when I get the correct photo can you please also contribute it to Lilli for the SOS fund or alternatively add it to the AJ has to pay for thousands of photos charity.

I am sure we are all aware of what is going on in the world and that nobody is trivialising that but people are entitled to have an opinion on things which may seem trivial to you. Perhaps some of us find the regular chatty sessions following lunch dates trivial, others may feel that there is too much emphasis on stray dogs/cats etc but as a mixed bag of contributers to this forum that is always going to be the case.

I have seen far more pointless postings than the one from Turtle, some that are nothing short of the ridiculous, some that are downright shit stirring, so what, it's not life threatening, can I suggest that you feel strongly about the things that interest you and allow others to do the same without making sarcastic remarks.

It would appear that allthough it changed on everyone elses screens it didn't on mine because I had to delete the temporary internet files which I assume could not overwrite the original photo that was in there.
