Newlad. Did ou read the article 21 years for four pairs of shoes? in 2007 two lads stole four pairs of shoes from a doorway, 2 years later they have been sentenced to 10years 8 months jail each. A reduction in their sentence was asked for because the shoes were second hand!

"In 2004, the European Council imprudently authorized the entry of the Republic of Cyprus into the EU, without insisting on the reunification of the island. The Greek Cypriots took advantage of the accession deal, but thereafter refused to accept a reunification plan proposed by Kofi Annan."



I understood that entry into the EU by RoC was subject to reunification/solution but the EU, against their own better judgement, allowed it to proceed.
