Hi,

Im sure this subject has been covered, did try to search 44 archives but no joy.

I will soon be visiting TRNC from UK and want to bring my laptop and 3 G usb broadband dongle over.

Can anybody tell me if this will work OK in Cyprus or not?

Thanks

I doubt if your UK dongle will work here and even if it did, it would be very expensive. There are numerous bars and cafes that have WIFI hotspots, assuming you are here for only a short period and don't intend logging on for hours and hours, I would use them.

At the bottom of the Forum frontpage are a whole host of subjects. Click on Internet as i know that this subject has been covered numerous times.

Further to my last. I did a quick search and found the following which may well fit your situation:

"hi guys

there is a alternative option if you dont want to spend the 150tl on a modem, you can go for the extent wifi hotspot option all you do is go into any lemar or any comp shop buy the voucher for 29tl a month and everytime u go on the net you type in the user name and password and away you go, coverage is very good and it works out so much cheaper than the turkcell option but also depends where you are if you in the middile of the villiage surrounded by just cows and sheep the speed might suffer a bit lol

hope this helps

Hi, I have an unlocked Huawei E220 dongle that I bring from the UK to TRNC with my laptop, I have a Turkcell sim card and it works fine.
