"Whilst many beer drinkers speak critically of Gold Fassl beer, it is the cheapest beer in the supermarkets in north Cyprus. Currently 6 bottles are being sold for 8TL, approximately 55p a pint and almost half the price of "Efizz" as my partner calls Efes."

I have been drinking gold fassl for many years and am always disappointed that bars don’t stock it. The biggest problem with G F is the brewery does not make enough, that is why bars don’t stock it, I am told because you can’t sell a beer for 3 days and have no more for a month. If the brewery made enough so bars can sell it and panic buying doesn’t occur when a new batch arrives in the stores there would be many more converts I am sure

anyone know anything about the G F brewery, I heard a rumour that lack of bottles was the reason for a lack of consistent output! Must be something stupid like that because a standard brewery produces without long breaks

If their are a lack of bottles on the island, then why not put a deposit on them. This may also help keep the beaches clean.

I hate to say it, but I remember collecting bottles and taking them back for the 2d deposit on them. You're right pond JuMpEr, it would make the beaches safer places.

Gold Fassl.

1. It's cheap.

2. It's inexpensive.

3. It doesn't cost much money.

4. It's cheap.

Can't think of anything else good to say about it!

Well.... yes! It's just another Pils. There's way to much of that rubbish about. Gassy, flavourless, bland, inoffensive, and dull.

I'd like to see some real Belgian or British beers about. Not the mass-produced rubbish, but the real stuff.

Grinderman, but they are around if you're willing to pay 4.95TL for 500ml of Pedigree for example. Try Ileli in Alsancak. G F is not particularly gassy unlike Efizz.

I prefer GF, and to top it off, it's cheaper, and locally produced

I was told that GF is brewed for draft. Any over production is bottled and is always limited in quantity. Not sure how accurate that is - could be that the GF brewery couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery....(?)

when I say I like gold fassl that is because I live here in N Cyprus. By choice I would be drinking Hobgoblin or Old speckled hen from the barrel. I am in for a treat in 4 weeks time as I go back to England for 4 weeks and a mate of mine has lined up a session in a pub that pours straight from the barrel. MMMMMMMM
