This mornings ride on the dolmus was pure hell....overtook a car on a bend, it was pure luck we didn't smash into the oncoming car! Absolutely terrifying! I am a complete mess right now, and simply dreading the bus ride home.....

It appears to be one of the things they have to be able to do to hold a driving licence here................. over take on a bend!!!

I once remember going from Girne to Gazi Magusa in 45 minutes in a Dolmus. We were doing break neck speeds over the mountain. I saw 120 kph show a few times on the speedometer and regularly along the main dual carriageway.

As they say, time is money. The more journeys a Dolmus driver can fit in the more he earns, but I do wonder how much is actually paid in taxes as tickets are not given out.

I don't think giving tickets out would change matters at all....the government should build a ton of big speed bumps all along the main road, especially from Lapta to Karsiyaka!

I can't begin to explain how thoroughly frightened i am to get in these bus's....

When they drive too fast, I tell them to slow down. Everyone else just seems to sit there looking petrified!
