We need to obtain Power of Attorney from a cousin but circumstances make it very difficult for her to go to the Turkish representative in London.

Does anyone know of another way of obtaining this document?

Useful comments very welcome.

Hi....you can get round this by....get the solicitor to email you the paperwork, sign the paperwork, have it witnessed, scan it and save it to your computer...then email it back......this should be suffice for your solicitor.

No POA required

If at some point the solicitor does need the actual signature..send it by post ( takes about 3 weeks )..or take it with you next time....( none of this should be required )

hope this helps...have done this myself

Hi....something else to consider....Do not sign for any property purchase if you still have property in the UK, untill after the Orams ruling ( if you still wish to go ahead consider putting the property in the name of someone who may not have property in the uk ie a son or daughter, sister or brother, or put yur UK home in your name and your NC home in the name of your spouse )

Also, don't give an open power of attorney that covers everything. If you must give POA, Only give it for something specific that you cannot do yourself.

We now do not use the advocate /solicitor who we gave POA to . What do we do to release him from being our POA ?
