My friend has just been to the immigration office and was told that if you rent a villa and need to renew your residency you now have to go to the tax office and get the lease stamped. They also charged 143ytl for the service, more expensive than the residency itself. Another government con to get money from the foreigners. I wonder how many people came here thinking to start a new life as it was a cheap place, but think again, everyday there is some new hike in prices. The government must wonder why lots of people are leaving the island, just ask the removal companies how many leave each month.
