Swine flu vaccine??? Help

I am so stuck, if i should get my 18 month old daughter the swine flu vaccination done, as so scared about the side effects, doctors here are saying go a head and get it done. I even phoned the UK and spoke to a health visitor she also said do it and she said we are very lucky here that our government is saying that all children 6 months old to age 5 should get in done, but i am so confused???

Hi Denise,

The side effects should be no worse than any other immunisation your little girl has had in the past. Maybe a bit of soreness round the injection site or worst way a bit of fever. In that case some Calpol will bring her temperature down and help the soreness. The only people h1N1 virus seems to affect badly are people with pre-existing health problems. So if she has no heart problems, asthma or anything else serious go ahead and get the vaccination.

If still worried go to the WHO (world health organization) web site and that should be able to answer all your questions.

Try not to worry I am sure she will be okay.

Because i worked for Glaxo, & Squibbs, as a research chemist, in international development labs. Also for the government uk in secret lab working on a safe pertussis vaccine, seen and know more than most And my children were never 'jabbed'. Same for most scientists i worked with. Mercola also gives information, not just natural remedies. As i stated, this mum should do her own research.

No disrespect but if you work in a secret lab in the UK then you will have signed the Official Secrets Act which bans you from even telling anyone that such a place exists!

Also why don't you trust what the W.H.O. are saying? Surely if they were as bad as you suggest then they would be getting bombarded with law suits every day.

I had my swine flu jab on Tuesday lunchtime, yesterday my arm was sore and I felt a bit tired. Today my arm is still a little sore but otherwise I am fine. Far better this than full blown swine flu, would you forgive yourself if your baby got this, when you could have prevented it?

I,m afraid you have confused me I thought that people with heart problems,asthma etc are been advised to get the jab as without it they are at more risk if they catch Swine Flu.I have been called forward for mine as I had a heart bypass in August but I consider myself to have a stronger more effiecent heart than I did 4 months ago,Can never work out wether I am classed as someone with heart disease or I am clear after op.

Anyway slightly confused as to have it or not on top of the winter flu jab I have already had any suggestions.

SuperMaids I wrote a simlar thread on here recently as I have a 3 year old and after researching as much as I could I don't think I want my daughter vaccinated, there are no more deaths from Swine flu than any other yearly flu and unfortunately it always affects the young and old. There is not enough known about the vaccine and that worries me. Its a really difficult one to answer when it comes to our children and a real quandry to do whats right, but I think me for one will give it a miss.

Informed consent is one thing. Ethics, another. This 'pandemic' is IMHO about as real as the Millenium Bug.

I will not be getting getting injected with any flu virus. I am a healthy, non-smoking adult with no chronic health issues.

Far too many GP's are already having to deal with frightened 'patients' with a cold and sore throat who have been convinced by the hype that they are now likely to die.

It is a very hard decision. All mums want tp protect their children, (i had 4) i feel for you. I have posted a link for 'safer mercury free vaccines' Should you decide to vaccinate your child, ask for a branded mercury free, it is a safer option. All the best. Olwen

Here are some facts that people should take note of Swine flu Bird Flu and all the other so called dangerous flus we have had have come and gone. What happened, nothing. FAct more people die from the normal yearly flu that we get than from these flus. Why is this not considered a pandemic. Fact Aids was going to spread like wild fire in the 80s and so many millions of people were going to be infected. Fact this is not true, more people are dying from cancer and people who have contracted the hiv virus are still living 15 years later.



Vaccines are not proven to work all the time. Our kids have never had a vaccine and touch wood we have never had a problem. Research research and more research. Dont trust doctors all the time and definitely dont trust pharmeceutical companies, they are in it for the money not our health.

As many have already said, it's a realy difficult decision for any parent. We have a three year old, and we personally have decided not to innoculate him. He's healthy, we wouldn't ever innoculate against normal flu, "just incase". This a new injection that we know nothing about though. What ever you do, you have to be happy with your decision, and the liklihood is, which every decision you make, will be fine.
