I can't see these 'talk's' lasting much longer. It's starting to get a bit bitter. Talat should give us all an early Xmas present and walk away with his head held high.

there is nothing wrong with talking:

many of the world's conflicts are included in a real or imaginary peace process

as regards cyprus, this most complex and intractible of all the disputes,

there seemed very little common ground indeed before the talks started last year

to please outside players as well as in the hope of pulling something out of the fire

the two leaders duly paddled their pedaloes off into the very choppiest of seas,

but little or nothing has come of it

surprised? nah!

sad? just a bit!!

pessimististic? not at all!!!

long live kktc

Bill

I have always reckoned that Talat will walk away from the talks and effectively stand down as President before the next presidential elections.

I think Talat will see it through till the bitter end.

He isn't going to want to go down in Cy history as the one who walked away.

The GCs will play hardball all the way until Talat loses the election and they will take the blame when it all ends in tears.

I think that it would be a great pity if Talat should stand down and not contest the presidential election. Whilst he has not been able to make any significant headway in the talks, I get the impression that he is a truly decent and honest man, something I cannot say about his potential successor as president, Eroglu.

so fiendishpaul, what do you know about President Eroglu that makes you believe he is not decent and honest? NCFP want to know all!
