Between 1400 hrs and 1800 hrs next week for every Pint bought Daren will donate 1/2 tl to TRNC Healthcare.

This money and any others raised will go towards new equipment.

Hope to see you all there next week I will pop in most days and if anyone has any questions or suggestions as to why we are doing this please pop along. Also will do Blood Pressure checks for anyone who want them.

Also very important if you have elderly neighbours that you want us to pop in and see check Blood Pressures etc. don't hesitate to get in touch.

like i said we pay through the nose for everything get ripped off by the goverment when doing our residency ask yourself why the goverment dosnt bail the health system out they would give the money to help the airlines who ripp us off its a vicious circle that always seems to involve our money and now you want people to give more and wat else does it mean when you say for every beer bought he will donate money its encouraging people to spend and drink more. when that happens people get hammered if you cant see this i suggest you see a doctor or better still a nurse x

I am no fan of the TRNC government but you are missing the point. TRNC Healthcare is a voluntary organisation that is looking to assist folks in their time of medical need. I am fortunate enough to have private health insurance but many people in TRNC do not, and rely (to a degree) on local health service arrangements. This invariably has it's limitations, and it is here that TRNC Healthcare is attempting to plug the gaps. Please don't knock an organisation that is trying to help people, you never know, it could be you that requires their assistance in the future.

I also think you do your fellow expats a diservice. Just because the owner of JK's has decided to give half a TL to charity for every pint sold doesn't mean that people will get hammered. I am sure that the intention is to get as many people as possible to attend the event...........therefore lots of people, drinking a few pints each will earn as much as a few people getting hammered.

racoonchic,

Why not come along next week and see for yourself that people can go out and have a social drink and not get 'hammered'

Forgot to add that JK's now has a wood burner in so it is lovely and warm inside for those of us who feel the cold.

Just been to JK's bar in Lapta and Daren and staff raised 200tl last week by donating 1/2 tl for every pint of beer sold in happy hour last week. That's a lot of beer!!!

Thanks to all that went to JK's and especially to Daren and Michaela (think it was her idea)

We now have 200tl in the pot for new equipment instead of 0tl.
