Ha Ha - Sorry but you have to have a laugh now and again - life is too short - we do generally post and respond informatively to topics but in this case we know some of the people and we thought we would have a chuckle - the responses did make us laugh - no maliciousness intended - so please don't take offence!

Duffy's bar, boardwork - San Diego, US: All of the above but including spicy potatoes.

If looking for N. Cyprus reference then Malpas Hotel Breakfast - Crap Service, Great Food.

....however if I may indulge eveyone, I would like to say that when relaxing on a Malpas Sunbed with the crystal blue waters on one side & the mountains on the other, the thought of 'most beautiful place it the world' came to mind....which in my 44 years I have NEVER thought before.

TRNC bespite its problems, but has someone very special to offer...I hope you all find it too!!

If I could retire tomorrow & live in my place in Bacheli, I would be there like a missile..........I've even seen posts from people who would rather live in Stoke on Trent...come on!!! wake up & smell the freedom!!!

Hi Suffolk, no offence taken. Its not a dish we normally do sadly as I love ham egg and home made chippies. If thats what our customers want, then thats what they get, along with the home made bread. you know us we will do our very best for our friends xxxx

No1,

As I understand it, it fell off the back of a pig! Locally bred on the lush pastures of the Yorkshire Dales.

Richard,

Crackling is only skin deep!!!!!!!.

The thread was....."where is the best place for ham egg and chips?"

Much as I love Lilli and Guido.........The Yorkshire Dales!.

If you aint tried it, dont knock it!!!

Now there is an Italian restaurant in Leyburn. ........If asked I would say go to Guidos in Alsanjack. Having said that,

The best fillet steak sandwiches I ever tasted........was at Guidos! (If only they advertised it more!)

Take care............................

Have to say in our neck of the woods it would have to be Blythburgh Pork!

They have a slogan that says; - "Blythburgh Pigs are Happy Pigs - Put Pork on your fork"

Smithy/Lilli - It was, in part, due to hearing of others views/comments about your restaurant that we were curious to try it out. We have now had many an enjoyable visit, met a number of diverse people, with their equally diverse views - may it continue!

For once I have to agree with wynyard, the UK is best but Lilli and Guido's was an excellent meal nonetheless. Can't get ham like we do at home here.

Although closed for the winter, the best place on the island for ham, egg & home made chips is The Hut in Lapta.

I am sure many will agree.

Hi Lilli. we have lots of choice of eateries within 5 miles with offers. We had 2 for £10, 2 others do the 2 meals for the price of 1., we have 2 carvery's for £5 if we are there before 7pm with a choice of beef turkey and gammon, then help yourself with a choice of 7 veg and roast and boiled potatoes. Another one order two main meals have abottle of wine for £2. Menu still in ozs.

Bollyboffin. Not Whetherspools local pubs.

We find eating out in NC much better with both quality of food, and freshness of vegetables as well as value for money. We cannot recall having a poor meal either. Where we are in the UK is quite rural and our local pubs (of which the numbers are rapidly dwindling) charge on average £10.95 per person for a carvery.

The standard of the last meal we had was that bad that we refused to pay. If you have more competition then you are more likely to get better value for money.

Message 35 - couldn't agree more Irene and Steve. Eating out here in BSE is expensive, and, as you rightly say, pubs/restaurants are closing down at a rate of knots.

I think, in the UK, prices depend very much on where you are situated.
