Once again LYNX Management WINS the prestigious TRNC PROPERTY AWARD sponsored by Living Property NC Magazine

At a GALA DINNER held at the Rocks Hotel & Casino, Girne, TRNC, on Saturday 21st November 2009, LYNX Management retained the Platinum Award for Best Property/Site Management they first won in 2008.

This WIN, against strong competition from the sector, consolidates LYNX Management's position as the NUMBER ONE Residential Complex Management, Facilities Management and Property Management Company in North Cyprus, a position gained by consistently promoting top-level professionalism based upon a philosophy which is customer driven, dynamic and forward looking

Pipie you said in your post that Lynx won the award against "strong competition from the sector". I waws just curious as to who the "strong competition" was........

The telegraph buis section cartoon "Alex" this morning answers the question. He decides that the number of awards given to his bank is directly proportional to the number of tables booked with the organisers for the award dinner!

The Awards are given by people in the building ,estates and management agencies,to themselves at an annual award bash.As well as Lynx ,Abode won in the category.

If you google North Cyprus Property Awards 2009 ,you will find all those that won .Only those who have bought on one of the development sites awarded" best of " will know if the accolade is deserved.

Cant see who was on the panel, but one of them is Hasan Sungur, President of the Estate Agents Union,

As its internal those who won would know in advance,so its more of an award ceremony than a competition.

Girne 29 - what a pratt you are! Did you actually go to the awards?

I went with friends and they won an award. I can tell you 100% they had no idea they were going to win, they paid no-one for the honour and they don't actually even advertise in the PROPERTY NC magazine!!!

What they did do was work bloody hard at providing an honest service as well as spending alot of time preparing their presentation for the award judges. There were many big companies that entered, all that advertise constantly within Property NC, that walked away with nothing. So for once stop winging and be happy that there are some companies out there trying to do things the right way.

If you don't know the facts then don't bother commenting with your narrow minded opinions.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE THAT WON AN AWARD and thank you Property NC for organising a brilliant evening.

How does presenting your own case to a panel of judges within the industry for annual awards prove anything?

'Best of a bad bunch' somehow springs to mind.

I don't know everything about the awards Pipie, but I do know that there are only 2 awards for each category and some categories had up to 9 companies enter. So, contrary to popular belief, not everyone walks away with an award 'given to themselves by themselves'.

You also then have to prepare a portfolio for each category you enter in much detail and to strict guidelines. These are then studied by a panel of 6 judges before site/property/office visits. After which no-one knows if they have won until the evening of the awards.

I don't know what checks the judges do other than the above and I don't know what they base their decision on. But I do know that the friends we were with are honest, hard working people that provide an excellent service and THAT is why they won their award.

People like Hector and Girne 29 probably spend their life moaning about the island, the builders, the Estate Agents and the lawyers so much that they don't know how to stop...

... you all moan that no-one does anything right on this island, and then when some companies do you still have to slag them.

The world could be a perfect place and people like you would still find something to moan about - what a sad life you have!

As I stated in message 3 the public have no say in who is given an award, I think that speaks volumes.

MSG 18 Loving Cyprus - do you really think you could get an honest public vote from anyone who has anything to do with any of the projects/agents/? It would be an abolutely impossible task - this is Britains got Bloody Talent.

Maybe if the public had a say it would have been different companies up there receiving awards - maybe not. But the point is that, in my humble opinion, a large number (if not all) of the companies that received awards run good business and they were being credited as doing so.

i know lots of people have had problems in Northern Cyprus but please give credit where credit is due!!!

HEAR HEAR YOU GOT IT IN ONE LOVING CYPRUS top marks, dont be fooled by awards and certifications that can be bought for a grand or so and by putting together a glossy portfolio of answers that some peeps want to hear, it is common knowledge to those who have any basic understanding of how these things work, EG if you want your web site to look great and appear so just get in touch with a certain company pay them a fee and hey presto you are the best in the world, then some mu**et comes on here singing their praises, mmmm

I remember one company in TRNC who won a most prestigious award but that was before the torrential rains came and they were really shown up

But then again there are some good ones so credit where due lol

Last year SEATERRA were given several of these awards and yet they had Mortgaged their Reserve site for £2million (still unpaid) breaching many contracts in the process. What kind of message does this send if they are being "AWARDED". It makes a mockery of these awards and IMHO the judges should be impartial and do more research before handing them out. The construction industry is in dire need of good practise, law changes to protect buyers, and a good reputation if it wants to prosper and benefit the whole of the TRNC and it's economy. There are plenty of good developers etc, but they are being brought down by the unscrupulous.

" So, contrary to popular belief, not everyone walks away with an award 'given to themselves by themselves'. "

I stand corrected .I naturally presumed from the general description of the judging panel ,that they were judging their own .However as you quite rightly point out, you were there, and would be in a better position to know the occupations of the panelists than I .

I guess I was guilty of presuming what goes on in the UK as regards industry awards was the norm everywhere.

Congratulations to Donegal Developments for winning a Gold and a Platignum award. Nice to see an ex-pat company doing well.

So the history of this property awards is following: AGD Solar Trading Ltd. was awarded the "Energy Globe Award for Cyprus" for the first Zero Energy House developed here in Cyprus. Many papers wrote about this ( http://kibsolar.com/content/eng/news.html ), so I ended up also giving an interview to NC-Property magazine.

They must have thought that giving a kind of award makes great publicity and to my surprise one year after our Energy Globe Award (which was handed over at a Gala Dinner in Brussels EU Parliament) the NC Property Awards were born..

I think its the 3rd Award now, and I dont see anything changing in the TRNC property marked, still no sustainable building quality, no proper isolation of houses, no means of using pasif solar energy or similar. Its realy sad watching. To give this awards or not, it only for the papers and eyes. Many customers are blinded by a bit marble and a pool.. The problems come after signing the contract and doing the pre payment..

Happy livings

BTW: I am not knocking this NC Prop Award, just wanted to inform how it came to this event and that I dont see any progress within building standards in TRNC. What counts are pools and marble and other optical facts. That the awards are fun is out of question. Lots of people to meet, lots of drinks and food.. Thats great.

Happy living
