Love Fleetwood Mac, but prefer Eva Cassidy's version of Songbird - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFFo1pu4q7Q&feature=related

When i used to play in a band and we did the clubs to fund our self penned numbers we used to do a couple of Fleetwood Mac songs. "This next songs about a bloke called Albert Ross" bellowed our singer and it always used to crack me up,

Paul.

Cooper Msg 12...beautiful yes, techinically good, yes....but does not capture the velvet smooth voice of Christine Mcvie, which includes the pain, pleasure & the sheer emotion of what the song meant to this band; who simply cannot ever be replaced...

They are the only band that I did not get to see in the 70's and I really wish they would get together and do a concert in Turkey, I would be there like a shot!

Don't forget their earlier stuff with Peten Green - one of the worlds top guitarists who died too young

Agree that Eva Cassidy's Songbirds beat even Christine McVie's version

I would Eva and Stevie Nicks in my top three female vocalists

New lad - have you ever seen the DVD 'Classic albums - rumours' - if you haven't, i really recomend it - it interviews the band members about the making of the album 'rumours', lets you know the meaning of the lyrics and how the songs were recorded, etc......if you can't get a hold of it, i'll burn you a copy if you want

Fleetwood Mac are on tour at the moment to coincide with the release of the greatest hits CD. They have just finished the British leg of the tour and are moving on to Canada in the new year. The are of course without Christine McVie who has retired to the west country.

Peter Green is a brilliant guitarist who turned is back on all the riches that come with being a rock star and became a recluse.I saw him a couple of years ago at Hull City Hall on one of his rare appearances. To much acid and other drug cocktails unfortunateley did lasting damage to Peter Greens mind,

Paul.

Msg 32 - Went to see Peter Green a couple of years ago - it actually did seem as if he'd gone on a trip and not come back! He was not good - had to be helped on stage, and then almost strapped to the mic stand to hold him up.

Incidentally, he was only the support band for John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers (reincarnated for the nth time!)

Was very lucky to see them just a few weeks back at their last UK gig in Wembley - played for 2.5 hours and the whole place rocked - very mixed audience too which was surprising - not just oldies! Was a brilliant night.
