Can I ask who you get your internet through as our is dreadful and getting worse, each time we ring we get fobbed off with weak excuses and Kevin is fed a load of old bull by someone who seems to know nothing about computers, Kev btw is extremely knowledgeable and knows more than most.



Our internet is through Borat and we have Nethouse..I would not recommend Borat to anyone noe.



Are there any other customers of Borat out there and are you too having problems.

Dee Cyprus - why use Borat - sign up directly with Nethouse. I have been here for 5 years, and have tried various ISPs, but I consider that Nethouse is the best of a (poor) bunch. They don't go down very often and if you deal with the office in Girne, rather than Lefkosa, they speak English and are keen to help.

And no, I am NOT related to the owner, or on commission.

All the ISPs here are slow, flaky, and expensive compared to UK ...but hey, it's all we have!

Thanks for your replies, we went with Borat in the beginning as we were told he was the best, more expensive than most but the best, at first all was fine but the last couple of weeks it has been dreadful, we are only on in the morning and the rest of the day on for 30 secs and off for ages, then on again for 3 seconds etc etc etc. Borat even told Kev that we must have a power cut lol, think we would know or we didnt have the computers switched on..can you believe that..bloody disgraceful.

I was with Sunny Cyprus and the connection was rubbish. When contacting them they would come up with all sorts of reasons for the poor connection. Never got what I paid for.



Since early October I have been with Nethouse and the connection has been very good

Thanks Roxy...it has emerged that we are not with Nethouse but with Arinet...so apologies to Nethouse, however as I understand it, it was Borat that told us we were, the plot just thickens lol..is anyone else with Arinet?

I'm with Sunny cyprus,connection usually good,but speed is nowhere near what I have paid for - 750kb. It's more like 350kb most of the time. Service is decidedly average with all the usual excuses you get from most trades people out here.



Better than nothing though I suppose....

I had Sunny Cyprus and it was off more than on, worst internet on this Island and when you call them they have no clue on what to do and they are expensive, I was paying for the 750kb then they said you need 1m so went to that and it got slower when I done speed tests it showed only 256kb download and 25 yes thats 25 upload.



I am now with Net house and they are they best never off and I pay for 1m and get around 1.3m

We are with Nethouse and have been dealing with Girne office but have problems with wireless router which was working for a month now they say we need to pay for a bigger aerial on the router cos now we have to sit in the same room as the router , which rather defeats the object of the exercise.



I have a 3 month contract and despite telling them if problem not sorted will not renew....STILL NO PHONE CALL FROM TEC GUYS....................



So no I would not recommend Nethouse.

I had nethouse for a good while and whilst I must say that the internet was ok we never actually got the speed we were paying for. I changed briefly in the last three months to another provider and still had a lot of problems. We went back to nethouse and for some strange reason they were unable to connect us properly as we couldnt see there antenna from our house apparently it was a blind spot. Fairplay to them they said they couldnt help me so I was really stuck.



I decided to phone Bortec yesterday at 12.20pm and by 3pm they had tested the signal and connected me up. The signal at the moment seems to be good and the speed is what I am paying for, I can only say the service was excellent so far.



With regards to nethouse they were also good but customer service was not good.
