I have read that a builder needs a permit to carry out any building work, does this mean i cannot use my building skills from the UK to work on any property i might buy

hi mountbatten, i dont think the laws, apply to people that have certain skills

and are capable of doing the work to there own properties, but to registered

builders and construction companies.just as an example if i wanted to put in

radiators, why would i need a plumber to do it as i am capable of doing it myself. hope my information is correct but if not then someone will correct me

the only problem you may have is if you intend to work on gas or electricity in your property.not sure of the laws then in n/c

have a nice day

No laws as to what you can do as to regards to carrying out work on your property including gas/electric unlike the UK where you need to be registered.

You will most likely find that you will know more than many of the people who

claim to be qualified.

You have a different situation if you propose to work for other people.
