I know there is a studio in Alsancak that offers Power Plate sessions. A while back on the forum, members talked about a studio in the New Harbour Road. Does anyone know if it is still there please? Have any of you had personal experience good or bad of using Power Plates? What, if any, was the success rate please?Thankyou.

Thanks DC. I have read various articles on line. I would still like to know if any members use our local facilities for Power Plates and there success and also iif the studio mentioned a year ago on here is still operatiing in the New Harbour Road. Many thanks in advance for any information.

Mrs Snakes I go to power plates and can highly recommend thm. I have lost 1.5 stones since i started about 5 months ago. You need to do cardio with them as well...i go on the running machine for 30 mins before hand. The one I use is Figen at the new harbour, she is well qualified and gives you 1-1 training....not show you what to do and then sit with a magazine!

Thanks Kibris!! I read a magazine article in Living this month about it. That is fantastic that it is working for you and you have lost that weight! I am fairly new to TRNC, can you just give me a land mark as to where Figen is please. Thank you.

Hi MrsSnakes, I can highly recommend powerplates I started going in Jan this year and along with a healthy eating plan I lost 2 stone within 5 months. I lost at a steady rate but toned up really well with the powerplate. I stopped going throughout the summer months as I was doing quite a bit of swimming to keep me toned but I will be back to the powerplate in Jan again.

Id started to loose a bit by swimming every day but now its cold Im piling it on again, need to get moving!!

The cost is £80 for 12 sessions which you normally do three sessions per week... mon, weds, fri or tues, thurs and sat

Message 5.... head towards the new harbour from the pia bella roudabout...about 150 yrds there is a crossroads...turn right here, then second left, carry on to the end of this road then do a left....go straight donw towrds the sea...you will see a sign body zone... its there. Figens number is 0533 8356036. the cost is 15tl you pay up front for 6 sessions.

3 sessions (10-20 minutes) per week @15TL x 4 = 180TL or £74 - ish per month, + you still need to 'workout' .i.e. cardio work and resistance exercise, to see real health and fitness benefits.



Only by expending more energy than you are actually taking in, in calories, will you loose weight, exercise will help you maintain that weight.



Don't get taken in by Power plate marketing, it might offer a quick fix, but it is no solution for long term health, fitness, and weight management!

The Power Plate studio from Alsancak is currently running from the Kyrenia Studio. The sessions are gbp 80 per 12 sessions ( 1 to 1 ) with a certificated instructor, there is a treadmill there and they also offer cardio training using either the treadmill and the plate or just the plate. A word of warnng. If you have any back problems,first with a doctor that it is ok to use one, not just the person who is running the power plates for you.
