It seems he is calling a conference which the Afghini president (by default) will atttend. The matter in hand is to get our boys and girls back and they police themxselves. Have we run out of money to pay to be there or will USA take them alll home no more flags on coffins . Is this just for the elections. I hope not I have a neice and brother in law there and as bad as we think they the people love them being there. Whatever the fighting they have nade a difference to the poor people. I agree let them police it ande the money from this WAR has this cost the UK, who has made money from this war/The MOD or thier suppliers

Sorry, a contridiction in terms, the only Gordon that I know and can think of is tonic & lime having the affect of trooping around half naked in a ruined, depressed state, crying for Mother!

Just been announced that our Gord is sending another 500 troops to Halmand, so much for bringing the lads back, that will be 9500 of our boys over there.

Does the British government have control over Irish troop deployment in Afghanistan then?

In any event it seems that there are only 7 (seven) there and they are involved in non combat roles.
