"Would you like information about your charity or good cause to be quickly published on the internet and for a Google search to put that information on the first page of search results? Perhaps you would like this to displayed for only a short time, or perhaps permanently? Would you like all this for free?"

Great idea, I take it this information will be in the host countries language as well as English, we would not want them to miss out on an opportunity to raise money for their local services.

msg 3: Aslan asked "I take it this information will be in the host countries language as well as English"

It will be in the language of the documents that I am sent. One of the restriction is that I will not be creating content. However, I'd love a translator Alsan.

Well done Malcolm.

Information on a couple of the local charities can also be found on Lincguide and we are always happy to promote good causes.

One thing I have been trying to encourage charities to do is create their own paypal accounts.

If you do this we can also add 'donation' buttons to our websites. This will allow people to donate safely and securely online should they wish to support the particular project.

I am sure Malcolm would be happy to add these to the freepress too.

send your info to pete@lincguide.com

We can also set up a shop which uses a paypal account, so you can sell the charity's merchandise. For those who already have charities on Lincguide it might be worth asking Peter for this facility.

Peter, I hope I'm not treading on your toes by offering free charity and good causes web pages/sites? It's just that you seem to be promoting yourself on this post as apparently offering the same service, which I hadn't realised you did. I honestly had no intention of taking potential customers away from a commercial website. I set up NCFP as a free community service and have no intention to commercialise it or to take away business from others.

Hi Lilli, I'd be happy to turn your documents into webpages. Once they are on the website you can then use http://www.northcypruscharities.com to get to your website. Click on the link, the website has been set up already and is waiting for your documents. If you want something with more than a single page please use the contact form on the website to tell me.

Hi Malcolm,

I think your Charities website idea is excellent.

Although Lincguide has banners on it, these barely pay for the hosting.

It looks like a 'commercial website' because I am a professional web developer and this allows me to devote time to Lincguide.

Over the past 18 months Lincguide has regularly promoted positive projects and charities in Cyprus (including NCFP and the blood donor registry) and will continue to do so, I am delighted NCFP has decided to do the same it can only help the charities and that is what is important.

That's OK petez, I was worried that I was taking work from you during these hard time. BTW, your website is superb and it makes me a little envious every time I see it. My background is not web design, although I taught and now moderate and examine A level GCE ICT including web design.

Lilli, I look forward to Theresa's return. Your animal good cause would be perfect but remember, you create the content and I put it on a website and do a little promotion. Christine has been in touch.

Unfortunately I'm not going to contact anybody as in my experience if a charity approaches me they are more likely to be serious.

Hi Malcolm thanks for the message.

NCFP is a great site and I am always linking to the articles from our twitter page

http://www.twitter.com/lincguide

Luckily all my web work is in the UK, otherwise I would be in trouble!

The charities site is a great idea and I will send a message out to our facebook group and twitter followers etc..

Thanks petez, as for your web work being in the UK you're like me, it's far too complicated working here.
