Our pool's covered for winter, looked out last night,

and cover had been disturbed!!!

No wind, and a puddle at the shallow end,

leading into the garden.

Heard and saw nothing.

These covers are quite heavy, more so when wet

Navek

Only found 2 so still at least 4 on the loose 2 female and 2 male and they are known to breed under water so keep an eye open for them breeding in your pool!

Hi Queen180,

No the cover sits in the pool detached from the roller which sits on it's side against railings,

as wind has blown the roller into pool in the past.

Hi smithy,

No kids about here apart from my nephew, and it wouldn't be him.

The Esentepe Yeti seems the best bet yet, as it would be attracted to nurseawfuls Haggis

I notice the pool is devoid of water so 'Hippo' could have had one large splash or 'Zerochlor' chemical set was not configured correctly evaporating all water, but no signs of after burn carbon fire from a bazooka. I'm exonerated!

Sorry folks having to drag up an old post again but hoping Navek can help.

Once again we have had trouble with the haggis breeding! They escaped again but this time due to a faulty gene both legs were the same size so the b.....ers have bolted.

Anyone spotting these wee creatures please e-mail me and Navek who is the master trapper with his apprentice Groucho can catch them in time to celebrate on Tuesday.

Thanks in advance.

Not great pics and fact 10 is a myth as we have managed the breeding.

Sorry nurseawful,

Ate one the other night,

and there's still one locked in the freezer for Tuesday the 25th Jan.

I remember quite a few years ago,

there were a bunch of them I had cornered,

whacked one of them with a stick, split him wide open.

Not a pleasant sight, but ate him there and then,

while he was still warm, yum, yum yum )))

Happy Burns Night.

(Burns was thought to have been born on 25th January 1759)

We were lucky enough to catch 2 of the bleeders before they escaped Navek so have them for Tuesday so still reasonably fresh. Still not sure what sex they are though as I have never really worked out how to tell have you?

Seriously Liz do you know how to tell the sex of the haggis? Don't ask Guido as the Italians know nowts about these creatures as they are known to hate pasta and garlic!

It's been said, that if you rub them on their tummy for a few minutes,

you can find if they're males or not.

Tried it once, after about 1 minute,

it farted and I dropped it,

it was off like shot, never to be seen again.

This is a built in defensive action,

that will always catch you out the first time.

I know all about the Haggis and have a book here with all the facts..Did you know that..

The hunting of Haggis is strictly illegal and penalties are severe for those caught in the act. also...

Whilst the monetary penalty by those who illegally sell Haggis is no onerous by todays standards, the civil penalty has equally lost its cache. Banishment to the Colonies no longer holds the fear it once did.

Remember...you should still hold the fear as...Caught Hunting= Death Penalty.

DO NOT..Purchase Haggis from an un-licensed seller.

Lets hope you live to tell the story after Burns nicht.

Can't resist boring you all with my favourite Burns (?) poem! Enjoy (in 2 parts or should that be f...)

Oh what a sleekit horrible beastie

Lurks in your belly efter the feastie

Just as ye sit doon among yer kin

There sterts to stir an enormous wind

The neeps and tatties and mushy peas

Stert workin like a gentle breeze

But soon the puddin wi the sauncie face

Will have ye blawin all ower the place

Nae matter whit the hell ye dae

A'body's gonnae hiv tae pay

Even if ye try tae stifle

It's like a bullet oot a rifle

Hawd yer bum tight tae the chair

Tae try and stop the leakin air

Shifty yersel fae cheek tae cheek

Prae tae God it doesnae reek

Ricochets aroon the room

Michty me a sonic boom

God almighty it fairly reeks

Hope I huvnae shit my breeks

Tae the bog I better scurry

Aw whit the hell it's no ma worry

A'body roon aboot me chokin

Wan or two are nearly bokin

I'll feel better for a while

Cannae help but raise a smile

Wiz him! I shout with accusin glower

Alas too late, he's just keeled ower

Ye dirty bugger they shout and stare

A dinnae feel welcome any mair

Sounds like just the job fur me

Whit a fuss at rabbie's party

love, love, love it..........thank you nurseawful, will use this next week when we go for our yearly Burns bash.......we are all expected to come up with a poem, joke or something and I was struggling!!! Last year we had to dress in something appropriate for Burns night, most people came with a touch of tartan in some form or another but our neighbour arrived swathed in bandages from head to toe....different take on burns night!! x

Wish my dad had recited Nurseawfuls version every Burn's Night instead of the serious version he used to make me stay up late every Burn's Night to hear him recite. I would have enjoyed it a lot more! I used to love eating haggis as a child, but went off it as soon as I was old enough to find out what it was made from.
