The committee would like to thank everyone who supported NCCCT Christmas bazaar.

tuesday 1st dec.

The max people supporting our christmas bazaar has been last year with 152 persons, so are so pleased that we had over 370 people yesterday at the Pia Bella Hotel.

We know people had to wait for tea and coffee while the water was boiled and coffee made thank you for your patients, and i can not believe how much food was eaten, 350 sausage rolls, 390 mince pies, 400 chocolate elclairs and nearly 4 kilos of fresh patries from Dano bakery. but i hope all enjoyed the event and after all monies have been counted we raised 7880 tl which will be put towards the equipment that we are in the process of purchasing for the Childrens Oncology dept, Lefkosia state hospital.

There are only 7 committee members including myself with a small handfull of fantastic volunteers, so i would like to Thank them and You.

Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Well done NCCCT great effort for the kids and a good time was had by all. Pity I noticed the usual clutch of ex-pats forgetting the charity and using the event as a soup kitchen - are times really that hard?

Well done, it was a shame it was in the week and not on a Saturday, we couldn't make it due to work commitments and I am sure there would have been others in the same situation.

And a big thank you to Angela Hasman, the former Chairperson who really started to build all this up prior to Mark's take over. I think she deserves a great round of applause for all she did.

As to plate pilers, it happens all the time. Perhaps if one had more bazaar and less food, people would buy more and eat less - or if they had to pay for their food, and just say, a couple of lira for admission that might work, but then the money taken could be less. So, if the Plate Pilers contributed a lot of money to the fund,l surely they can be forgiven.

Sorry Buster 1, can't be in two places at once, not even for NCCCT

But I would like to praise one unsung hero of the day - Andy (Andrew) Watson, who single handedly baked (I am told) 400 sausage rolls and 400 mince pies and what makes him even more of a hero is that he was decidedly unwell at the time. Bravo, Andy!
