The only time a letter or parcel that I sent to the UK arrived was when it was posted in the South, other people have been lucky even though mine was registered, never arrived

Last month sent a parcel to my daughter in Sheffield, no problems. Took the contents of the parcel to the main post office in Girne, there a nice lady picked a box of the right size from her stock, packed all the contents into it, sealed it up, wrote the address on it, weighed it, stuck on the stamps, game me a receipt for it (recorded delivery is so expensive here - that cost me an extra Lira) and stuck it in the mail to go with the rest of the parcels.

Five days later it was in the UK in London central sorting office - a mere ten days after that it arrived at my daughters house in Sheffield.

I sent things that together weighed just over 1 kilo and that cost me 19TL all together. I would send anything from that post office without a worry.

Have posted parcels from Girne to Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Norway and everything arrived. Do not seal your package because they want to check contents before sending

PS buy padded envelopes if possible from stationers at the square. Cheeper to post
