Does anyone know what the ministry charges for work permits and what additional costs are for Sigorta and Stamps...?

Who is liable for these costs - is it the employee or employer??

Thanks!

Don't know the exact cost - but its the employer that has to apply and pay via their accountant. The taxes etc are paid by the employer.

That said what is supposed to happen and what does is a different matter. The employer is supposed to offer the job to a Cypriot first, in some sectors you have to employ x Cypriots before you can employ a Turk or an expat. Though these rules can be "bent". Who pays well it really depends on your agreement with your employer the employer pays them over weather he charges them back to you is between yourselves but beware of promises of a work permit, my daughters boyfriend has been awaiting his for months and has been technically illegal during that time and has just forked out for the amnesty and is back on 90 days. There are some real sheisters out there who just don't care who they mess up so they can make a buck!

I was wondering about the initial application and processing costs of the work permit...? can someone clarify what Sigorta and Stamps have to be paid etc at that stage... and again, whether this is payable by the employer or not?

work permit stamp cost 215 TL per person + 6 TL stamp at Lefkosa Calisma Dairesi, behind 1001 shop.

if you buy the stamp at post office it is 6 TL, if you forget to buy it you can find it at coffee place inside the building which costs 8 TL there.

Social Security per person, per month is 8% + 10% if you are trading only, if manufacturing or staff working at higher risk then 8.25%+12.25% = 20.50% of minimum wage which is 1275 TL per month now.

Ihtiyata Sandigi is 5% of the minimum wage every month per person.

In fact, 8% of the total 18% for social security payments belongs to the employee and 10% is to be paid by the employer but this depends how you agree with your workers. As far as I know most of the employers, including ourselves, we pay the full amount of 20.5% ( in our case as we have a factory )

hope this helps

once you applied to Calisma Dairesi for pre-permit and have your documents approved by them - they give you the lab report paper. When lab report is done in 2 days time, you take the copies of the approved pre-permit document, passport, the page of entry date stamped by police when entering the country on the passport = these photocopies will be need when registering at Social Insurance & Ihtiyat Sandigi along with the documents you have to fill - you will receive the empty ones at the offices, just ask the desk officers they will give to you. Once you fill all the forms, signed and company stamped by you and by your employee, along with all the other document copies, they will give you one copy of each document you filled, stamped and signed by them ( both from Social Insurance and Ihtiyat )

Once you register to both, you will fill the " official contract" document, 3 pages, signed by you and the employee and you are ready to go to Lefkosa Calisma Dairesi with the stamps and money.
