There is a German Shepard cross that is a stray and is to be found near the Sempati Hotel Lapta first thing in the morning.

Hello Julian,

About 2 months ago, a stray (read 'dumped off'), we believe pure-bred, German Shepherd bitch, approx. 5 years old, came into our garden - very malnourished and obviously had been maltreated.

We have fed, 'Frontlined' and groomed her daily and, early on, discovered that she understands and responds to English - 'Sit!' - 'Paw' - 'Stay' - 'Come here!', etc. She has a lovely nature, is obedient, and will stay by your side constantly.

We have called her 'Jessie' and we would love to keep her - unfortunately, family committments overseas (NZ) preclude us from doing so. She now looks a completely different dog to the poor creature of two months ago!

Lilli said she had someone who was interested - but it never materialised...

If you are interested, phone us on (0392) 8150394 (Answerphone) landline telephone/fax.

We have to go to the Greek side today and probably won't be back until this evening, around 1900Hrs.

Julian,

If you find a dumped pure bred GSD at 1 or 2 months old, fair enough, but generally you shouldn't take a pup from mum till they are at least 2 months old. The better start they have, the better adult dog they make. Very important with a big breed like this.
