I suppose that's because promoting is a more serious offence than racism

The annoying thing is that THE FA does not have to state anything other than the sum of the fine! Embargoed! want to know how the racist leaflets placed on Chelsea supporters seats appeared there, without the connivance of the AP0EL management. They don't seem to think that these were important, and there is no mention of a 'ban' which is oftenpart of thepunishment.

But let's hope Embargoed! get a positive response to the letter they have sent to the Football Association.

After all, 40,000 euros doesn't help the damage done to the Turkish Cypriots and the misinfomation handed out does nothing to inform the world of the true situation. The punishment should include a demand of an apology to those who have been offended.

Good news about the fine, bad news about the amount. Not quite the $5 million dollar fine that the Turkish Grand Prix organizers got fined for letting President Talat present the award!

Your are forgetting what the fine was for .. it was the act of *claiming* he was a 'President' of a 'TRNC' - the changing from the agreed presenter... and the TR national Motorsport association got fined, too - reduced on appeal, as it would bankrupt them.

I don't think this fine would bankrupt APOEL ..
