I am always being asked by my friends, why i do not take part in internet petitions, here is the reason why...hope this helps clear a few things up.

In the case of Pauline Read's petition people don't seem to want to sign either the online version on http://www.northcyprusfreepress.com/2009/11/17/pauline-reads-petition-against-obscene-bank-lending-policies or the paper versions. I guess you're right daisy dukes they are more scared of what might happen to their email address than they are of what might happen to their home.

DD. I agree.

Puting your details on these petitions are a source of information for others to do with as they wish.

Many years ago I was told not to give my details out unles I had to and then to annotate at the bottom,of any form, in bold print ' NOT TO BE COMMUNiCATED TO A THIRD PERSON ' and sign underneath that.

Remember the old adage ' Information is power ' those who have the information have the power.
