The trouble with us english folk is that we've all become so used to having central heating, we never actually get to feel the cold, because we have this wonderful central heating, fabulous jersey's and padded coats, even the shops on the highstreets have overhangs so that we don't get wet! So, when we move here, it's always quite a shock to the system when winter really does kick in...no central heating, no big padded coats etc etc...so it does seem that when the fireplace gets lit up and is burning brightly and emanating a luxurious severe heat, it does seem rather deacadent and dare i say it...so very romantic as well.

So when you next light up your fire, open up a bottle of red wine and have a cuddle with your loved one, safe in the knowledge that for all it's convenience, central heating isn't very romantic....aaaah....

What you need is a 'dry as a bone' and that could lead you into all sorts of hot mischief!

'Father holds the lantern, while Mother chops the wood!' - that's what we say about a lazy man in NZ when the wife does all the work!
