Launch went very well. Lots of people turned up including some ex-pats.

Main guest was American Ambassador along with lots of other dignitaries.

Look forward to seeing those of you who have ordered books, and those who are interested over the next few weeks.

A big thank you.

A fantastic cookery book! I've been looking everywhere for one like it, and this one

really ticks all the boxes. Will definitely be buying more copies to give to family and

friends. This one even tells you how to make your own hellim!

Excellent cookbook, and as others have said, would make a great Christmas present. I just need to know where to go now to pick my wild mallow leaves and nipplewort, and what is silene vulgaris (yumurta otu)? Not joking, would really like to know. I recognise all the other ingredients, and will be sure to give lots of the recipes a try. The book is for a good cause too.

Mallows grow everywhere, at the side of the road (wouldn't pick those though) and up the mountain tracks. The perslane and mallow can be bought bunched in most supermarkets. Nipplewort looks very much a dandelion,so called because of the shape of the flower bud (and its treatment in the old days for breast tumours). Happy picking!!

Hi Dennis,

I expressed my interest some time back, and as it doesn't look as though we'll be able to get back there before the summer, I'd love to get my (signed hopefully) copy sent here.

Can you send it to Saudi Arabia, and if so, what would it cost all up?

Excellent book, picked mine up today. The most interesting feature for me is that the recipes and ingredients are in both Turkish and English so I now know what I am buying in the markets and of course unlike other cookbooks you know that all of the ingredients are available in most shops unlike other 'Mediterranean' cook books.

I've just cooked Firinda Tavuk ve Patates (Chicken and Potatoes in the Oven) from the book. I made it for us and our Cypriot neighbours and have received the best compliment ever when they said that I cook like a Kibris woman!

Karanfil,

I cooked that last week and it was so easy and what a super dish.

I am now looking forward to trying a few more recipes but I think I will have to give the Sheep's Head one a miss!

My very good friend gave me a copy of this book and have to say it is one of the nicest recipe books I have ever come across - so well presented. Showed it to another friend who wants copies so I will pass on your number to her. Well done to every one that was involved in putting together this little gem.
