We plan to drive to UK & BACK this summer. We have changed from UK plates to TRNC and we gather that you can't get thro europe using them. We think we can suspend TRNC & get UK plates back temporarly, thus ok for the trip.

Has anyone done this? Please advise.

You are correct & cannot drive into Europe on TRNC car plates. We had to change them over to UK plates in 'no mans land', the border between Turkey & Bulgaria.

If you still have your orginal uk plates take them with you, your trnc plates are not valid in europe but are valid within the uk as long as you are only staying in the UK for less than 90 days. This information has come from a freind of mine who has not long ago done this trip and has had to deal with these problems. You need to look into this trip with more detail as it seems to be more difficult than what it sounds due to politics
