You can watch pretty much any series you want for free online now. I use Sidereel.com and surfthechannel.com.

The Box, is not online TV. I personally find online TV to be poor quality but I'll give the other sites a go and report back on how they compare with The Box. I'll try yesterday's Gavin & Tracy which I already have a perfect copy of from The Box. I'll also try Flash Forward which is difficult to get without downloading it.

daisydukes, http://watch-series.com is US orientated and does not have, for example, yesterday's Gavin & Stacey. Zerochlor, same problem for http://www.filmon.com. The same with the others. The article is about getting yesterday's UK TV which I find difficult without a proxy. The Box is the best but if someone can show me a better way of getting UK programmes for free and easily I'd be interested, The test is - can you get yesterday's Gavin & Stacey without a using proxy and as a download using all your bandwidth.

I have a program that allows you to watch 40 UK tv channels in HD for FREE on your computer. but you will need an internet connection of 1.5meg

sorry motley, just tried uknova for Gavin & Stacey and got the message "Due to DVD release on 07/12/2009 - cancelled." You have to try the test first before posting that a website is better than The Box

use BBC I or ITV I and download or stream to your hearts content. You will need to subscribe to Identify Cloaker first so that it looks as if your PC is in the UK. Simple to do and cheap. Try it for a few days for 5 euro and see what you think.

yep, but the article is about watching UK TV for free and without a proxy (cloak) and getting yesterday's programmes, using Thursday's Gavin & Stacey as an example - I've already downloaded it from The Box recommended in the article

StG, 1.5Mg is not common in north Cyprus and is very expensive and so I don't think that you'll get many people accepting your offer

I too, as does Malsancak, use thebox.biz. I have a low internet speed & agree that live streaming is vitually impossible. Sometimes I get to watch programmes shown on TV in the UK. just hours before.

I prefer thebox.biz to UK.Nova for the following reasons, although I'm a member of both.

1. There appear to be more programmes of the type I watch on there.

2. Older torrents remain available, unlike UKNova where they are taken off after a fairly short space of time.

3. They have some very old programmes from the 90s & a range of programmes right throughout the 2000's so I'm able to watch the progs. I've missed since I left the UK. in early 2002.

4. Ratios are not as strict & if you have difficulty reseeding in full, you can but yourself download time by donation as a last resort.

6. No time delay for downloading, if your ratio down/up is less than 100%.

5. Their website is far better IMO.

No films but you can get them on dvd if you wish

Malsancak you are right. but the thread is how to watch UK TV for free. this is free and it's live TV not downloaded programs. You mentioned that you thought live streamed tv is poor quality - this is HD and free, so that's why i mentioned it - but you need a good connection.

For the record I use http://www.btjunkie.org to download most of my stuff and the box like yourself.

StGeorge. The whole point is that thread is about free or very cheap TV. 1.5 connection is very expensive in the TRNC. So as Mal said, most do not have a high speed connection. If you obtain a good, high speeed connection, PURELY to watch live TV, then it isn't cheap anymore, is it? Are you living in Cyprus or the UK. & what do you pay for your higher speed connection?

i used to download lots of stuff on the box.bx, but it is very complicated with all the seeding and leechers etc, and in the end i think i downloaded too much and they stopped me using their site!! i then used to watch filmon.com which was really good, but then i moved past esentepe towards bacheli way and cannot watch it now because of the poor signal, the programmes wont even play! i dont like downloading because it takes ages and am worried about viruses. but will give the other sites other members have mentioned a go tonight.

I used to watch Easy on line tv (which was good) with a vpn through my-private-network.

Then the vpn stopped working. I don't know if it was blocked by my provider Nethouse?

Can anyone reccomend a good secure VPN that I could try

Thanks

Well, I have used the 'box.bz' for a long while and I love it and manage to keep in credit all the time.I guess Malsancak was only trying to help people who didn't know what to do.

the secret of http://www.thebox.bz is to leave the downloads on so that others can share, this way you get credit and never need to pay for extra Gbs. It would be interesting to hear the experiences of those who are trying it out today for the first time and, of course, watching Gavin & Stacey, which is lush

I agree about the seeding of what you've downloaded Mal. I have no issue whatsoever the box.bz

re message 25. Vee123

It's not that complicated or slow. I can download an hour's programme in 2/3 hrs. This is fine for me. You can still use your PC at the same time whether you are downloading or uploading. You can watch programmes & download/upload at the same time too. I have at least 20 hours of TV that I haven't had time to watch yet.

If I can cope with it, anyone can.

No problems with viruses whatsoever from that site. It's not Piratebay where there are issues but with decent antivrus software which everyone should have as a norm. it shouldn't be an issue. You are far more likely to pick up a virus from an email, even from a friend.

Surely Mal people need invites on to thebox.biz ?? I have 10 invites going spare, if anyone wants one?

As people are giving UK VPN stuff away free away..

Over Xmas *I* will give access to our test VPN server from Xmas Eve to 27/12 and 31/12 - 2 Jan

It is mainly used for biz applications so it will be quiet for folk to have 'fun' with

You'll be able to watch all your fav shows - at a time when it is WORTH having something for free - for putting up with me :D

or watch it on Digiturk, SportsMax - Channel 78, as an extra package for 10TLpm. Today we will be watching Arsenal v Stoke, Manu Utd v West Ham highlights and then Chelsea v Man City and will be drinking Gold Fassl at around 1TL a pint.

Not always possible as in http://www.thebox.bz!!! because C44 treats everything including the explanation marks as part of the address.

fair enough M6, you walk 1 mile in 1ft deep mud and then clamber over the boulders that have fallen in the road and them swim for 200 yards...
