Watch Italian TV. What else and they are doing an interview with Sophie Loren. What a beauty she still is. She spilt the beans on her leading men. Im disapointed on what she said about Clake Gable. Oh well never mind, she is still beautiful and treated like Italian royality. The sadness and the toll she took with prision etc does not show. I could be bitchy and say she is sucked and tucked and lifted but I study these things. Yes her face has had maybe botox. She may have been in soft focus but one amazing looking lady. Sorry I know this is a stupid post but I had to tell someone xxx

Agree! I wish I looked like her and had her bank balance. She is gorgeous! Ibelieve she did have a lift a couple of years back, but why not. She can afford it, and it is good to give the world the kind of beauty that she gives. And also to Gina.

Actually when I lived in Italy, I HATED those Italian women - their frames were smaller than the one I was born with. I always felt like a gormless elephant alongside them. But I made some great friends.

Just wish I could have seen the programme. What was it on, RAI Uno or Due?

La Bella donna Sophia is one lady I would love to meet - and I can't say that for many.

But what DID she say about Clark Gable?????

Marie RAI she said he was GAY> I have had the luck through my jobs to meet many famous people. I would loved to have met her. Seeing the esteem the Italians held her in as Royality. They are so respecitful. She looked amazing as she is I have met Dame Shirl many times not a patch even though she is great .Newlad I love you so much xxxxxxxxxx

Trouble is when people are dead, one never knows what the truth is, but I know many of the Hollywood greats were gay or bi-sexual. How my dreams were shattered when I learned that Rock Hudson was homosexual. He was my idol when I was young! I think Marily Monroe was not very enamoured with Clark G either, so maybe there is some truth in it. But at the end of the day, these people brought magic\ and joy to the lives of ordinary people, so what the heck does their sexual orientation matter!?

Danny Kaye was another wonderful talented man, and it turns out he, like famous men such as Charles Laughton, and Michael Redgrave, and, and, and, had 'interesting ' sexualities. But they gave the world so much.

I think one of Sophia's strengths is that she has inner beauty as well, and that is what counts at the end of the day! Dame Shirley B is a totally different kind of 'dame', but terrific in her field too.

Lilli it just is not fair! we look at these "stars" looking fabulous and they have all been "under the knife" including Sophia Loren and as for Tom Jones OMG! he looks awful!! then there is the "airbrushing" The only "natural" is Bridget Bardot, who would rather spend her money on animals! but when she is seen out in public the media really go to town on her "wrinkles" etc, so Lilli stay as sweet as you are, do a "Bridget" the animals need you x

I think Sophia Loren is perhaps the most beautiful woman in the world. I used to wish i looked like her when i was younger. She's worked so hard to get to were she is today....and well deserved it is too. I also felt in complete awe of Yul Brynner too...wow i still go weak at the knees when i see him on tv...phwoar!!

Must agree - Sophia Loren was, and still is, in my opinion, beautiful.

Apparently, when she was trying to make a name for herself in films, many years ago, everyone told her she should change her look because "she looked all wrong". They said her nose was too long, mouth too big, etc. etc. but she refused. So, good on her!!

Jeannie I agree why should she change. God last night she looked so beautiful. There are many differnt forms of beauty and to my mind you are in that catogery. Its inside first and outside second. You are lovely xxxx

We live in the past I guess but who would we consider great eaties now. I think Catherine Zata Douglas. d ete Before we came here I was working the clothes show at the NEC.All these shows required you to have an ID card with your photo. I put Liz Huurley on mine and got away with it. Bad eye sight or no attention to detailnxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I cannot fathom why anyone would be 'disappointed' to find out that a screen star whose movies they enjoyed was gay, bi, or was of any other sexual persuasion? Has it somehow spoiled the enjoyment of the movies you watched (in retrospect)?
