Or you could try the Dental Faculty of the Near East University, Nicosia. My wife recently had full implants and associated bridge work, all new teeth! £9K. Fab place, personal private treatment at a fraction of the costs of regular dentists. Bloke in charfe is Prof Ersoy 0392 680 2031

Hi Topten

Glad you found Seda good. I've used her ever since I've been here & I'm fully satisfied. The only problem now is that she's much busier than in 2002 & you have to wait longer for an appointment.

£9k normally means £9,000. I was shocked by that too. I'd expect a new face for that price!!

9 thousand sterling is very cheap for full implants. If you are talking about osseintegration type implants, I worked in a private hospital in uk and 6 years ago price was 1.500 sterling PER TOOTH.Didn't include the day case stay costs !!!

It is still £1500 per tooth in the UK & if you need a bone graft then the cost is £3000 for one tooth, so £9000 for full implants is a bargain. Is there any other contact details other than the phone number like a web site for example?

£9K is what my wife paid, I gather charges have gone up by about 10% this year (she started treatment LAST year so was charged the 2008 rates. She had 12 implants, plus bridge work. I leave it to others to decide if that was good value for money - we certainly think it is.

Can't you change it to English UK? If you want to, that is.

If you click on Control Panel, then Regional and language options you should be able to select English United Kingdom from the menu.

Sorry, no other info apart from the phone number. Why not pay them a visit? Easy to get to, go to the 4th Floor. As you come over the mountain from Girne turn left along the dual carriageway nicosia ring road/bypass, then first left up the hill to the Near East Uni. After the petrol station on the left take first left into the campus, anf follow the signs, OR ask. For the guy who asked what does £9K mean - it means good value!

My wife and I use Mrs Canan Isbu 03928152290. She is brilliant and very quick.... most of all no pain at all. On our last trip my wife broke a crown on a front tooth three days prior to returning to the UK. Canan tried to repair the crown to no avail. Within two days she replaced the crown..... very happy wife She is based in Girne very high tech surgery. Most important of all she has a price list.

Yes, Seda is very good. She treated me during last summer and I would have no hesitation going back to her

except that I have some trouble getting up her stairs.

If your good Canan only has a couple of steps up to her surgery, would you tell me exactly where she is please.

A friend has recently tried Rasime Basat and was not at all impressed. He needed two fillings and a clean up and she wanted him to go 3 or 4 times for this! He had the first filling done - 2 visits and not a particularly good job either - but won't be going back. He has previously been to Seda and only went to this one because she was a bit nearer. He rated Seda as far better and a damn sight more efficient. Back to her in future.

hubby awake last night with toothache, same tooth he had trouble with a while ago. As we were in Gine' for Kar xmas fair, we popped into Seda Serger's surgery (first visit). She saw him straight away. The tooth has to come out, beyond saving. So while he waited for the numbing to kick in she did the scale and polish. 20mins later, out comes a happy pain free hubby. He was even happier when he paid! 80tl for the scale and polish and 80tl for the extraction. Yes she is busy, but I managed to book a scale, polish and check up for next week, not bad eh!

My golly gosh,I got a 5 piece bridge done and some fillings in Dubai because it was cheaper than UK and it still cost me 5,000 GBP and there is no cosmetic difference because it was at the back so 9,000 is an absolute bargain.

I feel like I've been ripped off now but at least I can chew with both sides of my mouth again.

I will definately have to pay them a visit.

Thanks greatly for the info Geoff

Re Msg 28: You are welcome. If you or any other Cyprus44 members use the Near East Uni Dentistry Faculyyt please mention you were recommended by us - My wife's name (and thus on their records) is Carole Turner.

Before someone jumps in and says I am chasing commission or the like NOT SO! I am keen to make the point that such good value for money treatments is news that soon spreads amongst the 'expats' and can also result in much needed Dental Tourist. This facility needs patients, if it does not get many more there is always the risk of closure. It is a multi million dollar facility, state of the art. We in TRNC are very lucky to have such a top notch place on our doorstep. I remember when I first started work in Leeds in the 1960s going to a similar place there - they also were short of patients. Many people think because it is a training establishment that it is inferior, actually the complete opposite is the case.

For the first time ever on here I ran out of space on a posting! I just want to further say that my wife is 53 (yes, much younger than me!) and her implants + associted total bridge work have given her completely new llease of life and confidence. She looks FB, and can once again eat anything. I myself will be next very soon,

drbets I will be paying for the cap on Thursday, so will post the price on here. We have in the past paid 80tl for a check, scale and polish, 80tl for an extraction, 90tl for an amalgaman filling and 120tl for a white filling. Seda speaks English and is very understanding and gentle. The surgery is hi tech I believe she trained in Holland.

Not remotely happy with Rasime Basat and in full agreement with Nostradamus on this one. 1 filling done - spread over 2 visits and 2 weeks later it has fallen out. Seda Serger is far, far better. Quick, efficient and very professional. Wouldn't go to Rasime Basat again - even if she was paying me!
