| On BBC World news he interviwed a minister from Turkey on the acceptance of EU membership. The minister said they have conformed to the consitution asked by 27 states. Then the Cyprus situation came up wherby the minister was asked why they wont open thier ports. He answered in no uncertain terms that unless the embargo is lifted for turkish cypriots then they will rethink. Stephen then asked you will walk away. Reply YES. France Germany both powerful cannont impose these sanctions he replied, we have done all that has been asked and we will open or country when europe trades with the TRNC. Sadly the interview was cut short due to the climate change conference, bt the Cyprus situation was discussed long and hard. SS then asaked why the New president of the EU who has stated Turkey can never be a member as our consitution states Christian countries, the ministers reply get your facts right that was before he became president he knows the importance of turkey. | Yes I caught the last 10 minutes and it was worth watching. Sacker has a forceful but fair questioning style. I thought the Turkish minister put his case well and explained Turkey's position clearly and probably accurately. |

| Yes, saw it and thought the Turkish minister handled the situation very well. He basically said that the EU needs Turkey more than they need it. |

| I was really impressed with Mr Bagis,a lesser man could have been made to look a fool by the interviewer, the interviewer was even butting in to try to get a reaction as Mr Bagis was answering his questions. He remained calm and informative all the way through. Thanks for the link. |
