Hi all just thought I would let all concerned know that if you break easy jet rules even by 1/2 inch you will get burned .I have just returned from UK on an easy jet flight from Gatwick into Larnaca ,now I should say that easyjet is great as far as seat costs and leg room are concerned but if you want extras be prepared to pay dearly for them .I and wife returned with a load of curtains and as they tell you that there is no weight limit on hand luggage I that's where I put them they fitted quite well into the said 2 item as long as the dimensions did not exceed there case size of 55X40X20 cm exactly the size of my case's but beware they had wheels and a handle which would not go inside their test rig and the check staff told me I would have to check them into the hold at a wapping cost of £398.00 . As there was no way I was going to pay this I proceeded torip the offendiing wheels off the cases together with the extending handle this to great disapointment of the sneering cont

So you exceeded the limit then with or without wheels.

Its hand luggage and comes with a maximum size.

We all know the situation with over head locker room!?

We have flown Easyjet into Larnaca on five occasions with bags in the hold and hand luggage (carry on case type) with no problems from the check in staff. Regarding hand luggage it does state the weight limit (within reason) on the hand luggage sinage. Perhaps your hand luggage is oversize?

We have found Easyjet very user friendly. Always on time, good prices, plenty of legroom, new aircraft super cabin staff and plenty of updates from the flightdeck.

If CTA could meet any one point mentioned from the above criteria I am sure they would generate more business, full aircraft and most of all more profit to and from the UK.

Scootex

I believe there is a weight limit 5kg on hand luggage as well as dimension restrictions

We purchased specific case for this purpose and have never been stopped, travelled EasyJet, Thomas Cook, Turkish Airlines etc

Since the cheaper airlines reduced fares they have been hard about hand luggage restrictions

Have not checked EasyJet page but TC for certain give dimensions and weight restrictions

No I did not exceed the limit without the wheels the case was 55 X 40 X 20 the wheels about 1" diameter potrudeed out so they had to be ripped off

message 6 you forgot to mention rip off prices for food, drinks headphones excess baggage charges etc etc but you have to take an overall view of the package an contray to what you say I found this particular ground crew check in agents attitude very unhelpful to say the least

Message 7 There is no restriction on weight on hand luggae it's one of their gimmicks ( lets be fair how many women and vertically challenged men could lift a 20kg case into those lockers above your head ) and the case itself was the size of the dimensions given by easyjet ifthey do not want passengers to take advantage of THEIR RULES they should change them

Easy jet do state that the case size includes wheels and handles.I have flown Easyjet to Larnaca with hand luggage which fitted their size restrictions and weighed in at 15 kilos which I was able to lift into the locker. Also found check in staff great and actually rounded down the weight of our cases as they were near the limit.

Message 11

Not if you compare the prices charged for food in the food kiosks at the new Larnaca airport. That is what I call a rip off!

message 13 I am not disputing that it was my fault but a little bit of leeway would of been nice after all you just said it they rounded down the sizes of your cases so they must have some discretion and yes on the whole the staff were OK but this particular one seemed to take great delight in being a jobsworth .Oh and by the way I dont think they do on the down loaded boarding pass only give dimensions if memory serves me but I will check And before anybodyelse gets all rightous about my story it was supposed to in a light hearted way lets be fair what could easyjet throw at me that TRNC has'nt allready thrown

we flew back last thursday. Larnaca to Gatwick . My bag was full and rounded ,I probably could have squashed it into the right shape. but I had a crutch dismantled and sticking out of the bag as it had to be taken home!!! way outside the bag size and no-one batted an eyelid. You must have got them on a very bad day.

Hi Liz yes I know I had not had a problem with the same case on other easyjet or monarch flights it was I think miss jobsworth who for some reason took a dislike to me as there were passengers checking in with the same size or bigger hand luggage than me but they were not asked to put their case in the test rig
