I got rid of mine myself by rubbing and applying pressure to it and strapping it tightly, it disappeared.

No Dr. Bugra is very good and only charges a small fee as you will only need a local injection as it can be done very quick

Hi timefore,

Three years ago I had quite a large ganglion on the inside of my wrist. I had a consultation with a specielist who advised me to leave it alone and it would most likely dissapear on it's own. He explained they are difficult to remove from the inside of the wrist because of the artery there. Three years on it has almost gone, so I would leave it alone and see what happens.

I have one that comes up every now and again on the outside of my wrist, it was out for about a year this time round and then a couple of weeks it ago it just popped back in! Its not painful at all so I just leave it to do its own thing, my husband thinks its revolting when its out as its about the size of a brussel sprout when its at it worst!

Hi folks - sorry to be pedantic (yet again) but it is a ganglion. I have one on the back of my right hand, just above my wrist. Had it for donkey's years and was told many years ago it was best, if possible, to leave them alone.

Even if surgically removed they have a habit or recurring. If it is not causing you problems best to leave it be, all be it they are not pretty to look at.

Ganglions are cystic swellings of tendon sheaths, filled with clear jelly-like substance. Most of them eventually clear up on their own, but this can take years. They can be excised under local anaesthetic,or they can be drained with a wide-bore needle and a pressure dressing applied.Neither approach is a guarantee of success so if it doesnt need removing......leave it alone.

I have a ganglion on the outside of my wrist. Have had it removed twice, so one vertical and one horizontal scar, and it was back within 6 weeks both times.

It is there to stay I think.

Thanks for all the advice, think I will take the 'leave it alone' option
