Lets say you've won twenty million on the Euro-millions so the question is........................ would you still want to live here ?? (forgetting about lottery & your location as to eligibility to claim the prize etc..) I wouldn't (but then I am gong back to UK in 6 month anyway) let the arguments begin (lol)

I would keep the TRNC as my base, but travel the world for four years and go to every major sporting event final, if 20M in euro will take me that far.

I am in Scotland and put the lottery on faithfully every week in the hope when, ( opps sorry if) I win it I can move to TRNC. Maybe it is a case of the grass always being greener but in my case I don't think so. It does not need to be the mega millions just enough to live out my twilight years in the country I love.

Definitely stay. After all, they say money can't buy you happiness, and this country makes me happy. So why leave! However, as much as money can't buy you happiness, think it can help (!), so would enjoy all the things people said above - not dreading the electric bill coming, or the car breaking down, be able to have that extra drink if you want it!!!! And would pay off ours and all our families mortgages too.

I would enjoy both places to spend time in the UK and also TRNC but I would spend winters in Barbados because the weather is better in winter and like others travel as well. To help my family and friends would be wonderful and to know that my Grandchildren would be able to live their dream whatever that may be without worrying about money. Not frivolous things but university education, homes, weddings and the like.

Message 12 and 13, yes both beaches are great and SA is a beautiful Country, but please believe me you are definitely safer here. So if we were to win the Lottery, I would rather stay here and yes travel, but not for a million pounds would we go back to SA.

Now this is inviting a lot of retribution, as I am very pro the North, but no I would not stay here. With that sort of money I would have apartments in New York, London, Munich & Sydney, places where there is good theater, live gigs, scenery within a few hundred miles, etc. A small place here would be on the cards, but so would the Harley lol Does'nt mean that I am not happy with my lot here though; serious money just enables you to do different things. And I have no sympathy with these "money never made me happy" people, they just don't know how to enjoy themselves without taking things to excess. TonyE

I would stay here, I love living here. I love the climate, the lack of crime and feeling of security and the life-style we have here, I cant stand the wingeing poms, (go back if you dont like it) and the plight of some of the animals, but yes, I would stay

We love the TRNC and even though we can't be there all the time we wouldn't change the fact that we have a house there, we spent over a year there and loved it and in the future will spend more time there again, we all moan about life but it's true the grass may seem greener on the other side but that doesn't mean it is, I think at different times in our lives we need different things and one persons perfect place right now might be someone elses further down the line. So be possitive and I hope you find your perfect place.

I am with TonyE. I would buy homes all over the world and spend my time flitting between them. However, with that much money I am afraid to say that I would not have one here. Much nicer places to live (if you have the wonga!!) Paul

I wouldn't can't wait for circumstances to change so we can leave. love the island and do feel safe but cant stand all the back stabbing, crooks, cost of living and lack of opportunities. i dont usually do this but FYI MSG 31 not everyone has a choice to leave even if they hate it, some people used up everything to get here and have been stitched up every step of the way, house with out deeds so cant sell so stuck here, so before you say if you dont like it leave please be more sensitive to other peoples situations its not always as simple as black and white.
