This board would be much more interesting (in my opinion) if *all* members wrote messages about (Northern) Cyprus, whether they are based in (Northern) Cyprus, in the UK or elsewhere. For many of us this is not a temporary place so why don't we concentrate more or only on Cyprus subjects? The Internet is full of sites where you can read jokes (the Ministry of Silly Jokes has too many representatives on C44), about HIV and what have you. There's still so much to learn and to ask each other about this wonderful place - why don't we do it? In a positive way, please.

I ask for a "Cyprus Week" on this board, no more rubbish from newspapers or sites that don't care or write about (Northern) Cyprus. This is meant to be an informative board about Cyprus and not a chatroom. Let's find out if the board would be more interesting if we leave the twaddle out. Shall we try it, for one week? What do you think?

Hans. Try it for a day - a week is too long. You had better run it by Izzet though.

Personally I think if every thread was about the trnc this forum would'nt be as popular. People like to talk and joke about different subjects. Everyday you can look and have a laugh on here about a variety of subjects.

I agree, but I also think the format of the board needs changing for it to happen/work.

I suggest having a section for all things Northern Cyprus and another for general chit-chat.

That way posts about Northern Cyprus wont lost in amongst chit-chat.

Problem solved

Almost 8000 C44 members, but this board is "run" by a couple of hundred posters. Do more than 7000 C44 members never have a question or an answer? Never some specialist advise? In short: do they have nothing to add? Nothing to add to the general or specialist knowledge about Cyprus? I find it hard to believe.

Enough bad things happening around us so a few jokes and silly anecdotes helps us sometimes

It's a good point. Maybe General Chat and Cyprus chat in different places. A cricket site I'm on has several cricket related areas under different titles and then a general chat area. Of course, the general chat gets more posts than the cricket most of the time.

Out of the 100 threads that are shown on here now only 18 are NOT about the trnc.

Therefore 82% of the threads on here ARE about the trnc.

I can't see a problem with that.
