Just drove past Mr Chun's and noticed all the signs are down and the place in darkness, not many people liked it but always a shame when a place has to close.

Dee,

You didn't miss anything, it was a Chinese restaurant but as msg 1 said, not many liked it. There are better ones out there, it would not have closed it's Girne restaurant a months ago and now this one if it was any good.

I don't like the chinese food over there anyway, too pricey and inferior to what we get in the UK, thanks for letting me know scooby

Mr chuns used to be good, but fell in to the old trap of cutting costs, less food and putting the prices up. last meal I had was from a raffle prize, but was that bad I even begrudged giving them that for a free meal!!

My favourite Chinese is 'Laughing Buddha' on the Lefkosa road, up the hill. Lovely food, plenty of choice and reasonable prices.

Woodspeckie,

I used to travel around the Far East on business, as a result used to eat alot of local food with the factory and office workers, and there is no way that the food there resembled what we consider to be Chinese food over here or in UK. Also all those E's you get in the food made for European tastes is not good for you at all.

perhaps one of us should open a "UK" type chinese/cantonese here it sounds like an obvious business hit !!

message 17 scoobydoo i totally agree with you but how strange the chinese generally live longer than us and are a lot thinner !!

I think what a prospective restranteur should do, is simply, go to China Town in London...pick up a whole family and bring them to Cyprus...and VOILA!! Lovely chinese food cooked by chinese people....how hard can it be?
