To all on the board,

We've had our up and downs. We've had laughs and tears. We've agreed and disagreed but hopefully something in the end as turned out for the better.

I will be on the 0730hrs flight tomorrow, 26th May 2008, from Ercan to Birmingham. It's a one way ticket.

When we arrived here 5 years ago it was quite, peaceful, unhurried. Just what we were looking for. Well the money started to go quicker than we imagined and after my Bar 11 complaints and suggesting that someone gave me £150,000 in my hand and the place was theres, it happened. We have sold privately, without an estate agent. We've got what we want and are moving back to Manchester to the same street we left 5 years ago and we are paying only £10,000 more than we sold our house for, but admittedly it does need some work doing to it in the region of another £10,000. But in the end our property here has gone up by a damn site more than the £20,000 we will pay to get back into the UK and we will still have a small nest egg to invest for years to come.

I'll still be around, but not to often for the next few weeks, as I haven't yet been able to sort a broadband Internet connection in the UK, only got dial up so far, but within 2 weeks should be up and running again.

The TRNC isn't such a bad place. I still find it more refined than Serbia or Bulgaria.

Timothy,

Sorry to hear that you are leaving, but delighted that you feel that you have got a good deal on your property.

You will find the UK a different place to when you left!

At least you will all get a good nights sleep.

Keep in touch with this board. I for one will miss your postings.

Good Luck to you and your family

Good luck Timothy.

I think you will find UK a worse place than the one you left 5 years ago, but hope you settle back OK.

As for sleeping better at night, I dont know.

I often wake wondering if someone is vandalising my car or my garden but perhaps I am being paranoid. After all its only happened once in the last 2 years.

As for me, I am looking forward to arriving in TRNC to stay sometime next Spring!

Timothy,

Changing your country of residence is a very difficult and agonizing decision to make. I have seen some Turkish Cypriots moving between TRNC and UK back and forth a few times within a very short time. I hope you enjoy your return to Manchester and I hope it will stop raining occasionally

hi timothy, sorry to read its not worked out for you.in your replies,to comments and critisism you have allways remained calm and collective, and capable of good debate with out resorting to tantrums or verbale abuse of others, and your help and advice to people on this forum will be missed, hope things work out back in the uk best of luck to you.

Timothy

Good luck in your move back to the UK. I wonder how many others wish they could do the same?

Hi Tim

Didn't always agree with your tactics in dealing with your problem, but wish you and your family genuine good luck for the future.

Must say your success at selling your home so quickly is, frankly quite staggering, considering all that has been said about noise pollution so close by.

Kind Regards

Derek.

Hi Tim .

Sorry things did not work out for you , apart from what you have mentioned could i ask what else made you decide to go back to UK ? I am so interested as were thinking of semi retirement for next year in TRNC . We do love the place but are a little concerned with certain issues .

Hi tim,

I am sorry to read youare going and wish you all the best, however it could be a case of out of the frying pan into the fire............ but you are retuning to the same road so should be ok,

Manchester is not the livley lovly city it was that is for sure.

I remember the daily express club, nile club and rubbing shoulders with besty sumerbee and colin bell at the millionaire club I was but a young lad in AWE.
