KAR is a highly emotive subject which is a TRNC problem yet it seems it is now not open for discussion, lol why am I not surprised.

Go to the AGM and there you should be able to see the accounts. Unfortunately my wife a former shop manager was told by the head of KAR to warn me not to attend as I would have been ejected, because I had prevuiously asked why a ballot at the shop was kept secret from the staff and they would not reveal the votes cast. TRNC democracy in action?

Quarmby I know how much this must pain you to write as you were a great supporter of KAR when I first started posting, it is because of your postings that I truly hope others will see KAR for what it is.

Quarmby I am told the ballot was not only secret but the result was dubious to say the least.

Secretcove I totally agree with you, they, KAR, are a registered charity and I would presume all their business should be open to public scrutiny.

Good job they are not involved in equine support otherwise accusations of 'horse trading' would be slung at them! Richard

Here we go again. The KAR bashers are at it again. KAR are not perfect but I think that it is a unfair to describe them as a TRNC 'problem'. As I have said before, if people think that they can do a better job then get off your backsides and try to make a difference. Very easy to talk the talk, much harder to walk the walk. As for the forum not being open for discussions about KAR, I think that people might just be fed up of having the same debate with no new ideas being brought to the table. Just my opinion Paul

All posts with insinuations, accusations and "I am told ... dubious to say the least" are malicious and show a sad village mentality. Facts, please.

there is not only KAR but also BARK - near Tatlısu.. info for those who think about donating to animal rescues... and anyone who wants to help ME and my environment, can make a donation to ME (Bank details per mail) and I will take care of it.. seriously, there is a project in Karşıyaka, which supplies renewable energy to schools, AGD Solar has finished a small installation in Karşıyaka Primary school, its called the Marry Whitton Project, its funded through monies donated by Marry Whitton who passed away.. http://kibsolar.com/content/eng/references.html Animals are cute but not everything Happy livings..

All of these issues have been discussed previously and any questions should be taken up directly with KARS. KARS will not enter into debate on this board so it is pointless of the pro/anti KARS members entering into a another slanging match. AJ

If there are issues that need to be addressed why aren't the people who are raising these issues on here, asking KAR to explain? After all KAR would know the answers. So, to those people why aren't you doing that?

msg 11: how does a person join the board of KAR? Are they elected by vote or by invitation from other board members? Never given it much thought before, just donated when asked, now wondering what/who, my money is supporting. D

Secretcove I understand that KAR do publish their accounts and they are available to members of KAR. I also gather that the accounts are made available at their AGM. Just because they do not publish their accounts to all and sundry does not mean that there is anything to hide - alas, people chose to see it that way. As for secret ballots, I have no knowledge of any taking place but then again I have nothing to do with the shop where the alleged secret ballot took place. Finally, I agree with AJ. Nothing will get sorted on the forum, just the same bouys will be gone around again and again and again......... Paul

For those that are supporters/interested in KAR, if you go to their web page and click on the latest AGM minutes....item 4 gives an insight into where the money goes. If you are influenced by the certain anti KAR members on this board, just remember.....no donations.....no KAR.....who will this affect? And some people call themselves animal lovers!

puppylover we dont just call ourselves animal lovers, we are, KAR are a business, they are not in this because they love animals. Anyone who genuinely loves animals would end the suffering of lots of them and certainly would not turn them out on the streets to be abused and killed.

I would like to know whether those that seem to have an ongoing problem with the way KAR is run, and repeatedly post their concerns and allegations (real or otherwise) on this forum, attended the KAR AGM this year and put their concerns and allegations (real or otherwise) to the KAR Committee ? If not why not ?
