The Lefke Foundation has called on President Mehmet Ali Talat – who has been conducting Cyprus peace talks – to make sure that the Lefke Coastline will be included in the territory of the Cyprus Turkish Founding State.

at a press conference, the Head of the Lefke Foundation’s Board of Trustees Vehit Nekibzade expressed the belief that the Cyprus problem would be solved in a reasonable period of time.

Mr Nekibzade pointed out that the Lefke Coast Line which lies between Yeşilyurt and Yeşilırmak, was left out of the territory of the Cyprus Turkish Founding State in the last version of the Annan Plan and said “the villages on the coast line were not purely Greek Cypriot villages. Important investments were made on the coast, especially after 1974. Without the Coast Line, it will not be possible for our settlements in the region to survive”.

He said that the Coast Line which is a red line for the development of the Lefke Region – should not be equated to other piece

Soyelcin, I have no illusions anymore that many people on this board are interested in this subject, but that's no reason to ignore serious items. And your post is one. I hope to help understand the situation with this map.

Guzelyurt was due to be handed back under the Annan Plan, as well as Kozankoy

I wonder if these areas are still under discussion , as there has been large scale development in Guzelyurt

If my memory serves correctly, under AnnanV, ALL of the coastline from Yesilirmak to Sadrazamkoy, and Guzelyurt and Lefke AND the enclave ( Exclave for Hans) of Erenkoy wre to have been handed over to the Greek Cypriot Administration.
