Come on Paul;

You say "proposed discount" at Korineum.

Is that the same as an actual discount?

I ask because they are notoriously mean when it comes to protecting "their brand"

Just the once. This is a SOCIAL SOCIETY. It will be for like minded people who want to meet and arrange SOCIAL events it is a none profit making SOCIETY, And any moneys collected will go, for example to discount trips and events. As for the Golf is a society for anyone who would like to arrange games among themselves or through compertitions that will be arranged by the society. discounts are mearly a bounus of being a member. so PLEASE This is an advert not a debate.

ps. There will be a pick and drop service at Kings Bar: For members. regards Paul

You could do 18 holes at CMC golf course for less money than that, it might be worth thinking about!

Also JK's golf society in Lapta organise trips this side and the south if you need info on this e-mail george.offord@yahoo.co.uk

How much do CMC charge for an hours lesson with a golf pro, unlimited balls on the driving range and play the course all day. if its less than 65tl, i would be inerested.not been to this course is it as good as Korineum.

Paulgeordie,

CMC is an 18 hole golf course yes cost is 30tl.

No tuition from a pro and no driving range.

But with all due respect don't knock the course until you have tried to play it, maybe spud1 just wasn't good enough to finish the course or he was there in a thunderstorm with torrential rain.

And you won't be playing the course all day at Korineum as the academy is only 3 holes.

So paulgeordie;

You have the right to play the academy holes!

But what about the real thing?

spud1;

If you really think CMC is just a muddy field then you do not understand what a true links course is about.

You walked off after seven holes; obviously too tough for you.

Long time CMC members are regular winners at Korineum, but then they are pretty good golfers.

Can you say the same?

newscoop. I do not understand your angry comment, I ment no offence to Chris or cmc. The whole point of playing the academy is for beginers to learn the game at a reasnable cost. We have members who play the main course as i do, and you must yourself. I am only trying help everyone interested. regards Paul.

paul;

sorry mate you got it wrong;

I was asking about the discount you may or may not get from Korineum for actually playing the course.

As to my "anger" that was meant solely for the Brummie.

Good luck in your dealings with Korineum.

News.

Just one thing Paul, be careful as I believe you need to obtain permission from the Government to set up any society. I'm not joking.

As an avid golfer I like to play all the courses. We are all golfers and should support everyone wherever they play.

I wish PaulGeordie and the society every success.

Think Spud1 is a twit putting it mildly. How long is it since you went to CMC?

Also Spud1 ask the many Turkish Cypriots who play both courses. They are proper golfers unlike you.

Hi Paul

well done for setting up your society and i hope you get golfers who like to play different courses cmc is not the best in cyprus but it is a club that the members are proud of and gives a good test of golf at a good price.

it has a long tradition in cyprus and all our competitions are well supported and we try to support local charities as recently shown on our captains day event.

Paul you should try cmc and not be influenced by spud1.spud 1 you are entitled to your comments but to say it is a field with flags is unfair, (but at least it means you wont be coming back) a lot of work is carried out by our groundsman to produce a course that cmc members are PROUD of and gives us plenty of entertainment.

Well said lads CMC is a quirky little course that is well worth trying and the members are fiercely protective of her.

Korineum is of course superb but whether or not it's worth 65euros in this economy is another matter.

As for golf societies; I always felt that the purpose of such was to play as many venues as possible and not just concentrate on one, if it's the latter people may as well join that one club.

Presumably PaulGeordie intends his society to evolve on those lines and good luck to him.
