I've had it for just over a week now and it's far superior to Vista apparently and has had some great reviews. I upgraded from XP. Only downside so far is that my Skype phone isn't compatable.

It's only a 2005 machine Jimmy. Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo Home PC (you can check the spec on their website). Pretty basic though. As for the version of Windows 7. "I couldn't possibly comment"

Hi Satranc

I had a similar problem with skype/phone, the problem was initially with the supplied phone drivers and i had to re-install them as an administrator before they would work. I also found that the security with W7 is a bit severe, so check that your phone/software has created an exception in the firewall (it is supposed to do it automatically). I had to add mine manually and then it worked OK.

If you have any older programs which do not work, try installing in 'compatability mode' and if they require access to the internet to verify/register etc check the firewall.

hope this helps

I'm loving Windows 7, very easy and user friendly , bought a little notebook in the UK to bring back here, only problem I'm finding is the messages from Samsung that keep popping up :-( not windows 7 fault I know.

I bought the Vista to Windows 7 upgrade (3 user) and it worked fine on one laptop but not on the other. You have to be careful as some manufacturers (eg HP) are not releasing drivers for all models.

I bought the full version to upgrade from XP to Win 7. I pre-ordered so only paid £49. Well impressed so far. I believe Tesco are selling for £69 as opposed to £89 I've seen elsewhere. If it gets too expensive probably worth just buying a new PC base unit with 7 already installed.
