Almost 8000 board members so this is going to be a very long and interesting thread. Here's the question: what was *your* best or most interesting or most helpful message on this board in 2009?

It should be more interesting if you asked people to nominate the best post.

OK, Ismet. I rephrase the question: please nominate the best or most interesting or most helpful message on this board in 2009. Watch this space, Ismet...

My nomination would jointly go to DC and Elko2,

DC for setting up the blooddonors database for me and for all his good advice.

Elko2 for some legal advice hubby and I asked for it was great and saved us some money.

Thank you both gentlemen.

You are asking people to think a long way back, DC! But a good idea to hand out a few 'medals' to people who make a difference.

I bet some will vote for Lilli cos of her getting stuck with other people's unwanted animals!

Or maybe someone will be voted in for their sense of humour.

I shall watch with interest, but at the moment cannot think far enough back to nominate.

Too much in my head, but - yea, great idea.

My most helpful member for 2009 would have to be Suntanman and his wife Sue for the help the gave us in September when we went to stay in our apartment,

Paul.

I have to say love Elko to bits what I like about you Elko your posts are always calm collective, informative and helpful

Dutch you confuse me because sometimes you are not nice but sometimes you do some lovely things for others

Lilli also is outstanding in what she does for the animals and children in Sunny (or not so right now) Cyprus

Not forgetting Izzet in providing the service for all in the first place )

I am sure there are plenty DC but one year ago is a long time and I cannot remember most of what I wrote but my first nomination goes to:

Izzet, without whom this board would not exist.

And my second nomination goes to you all for the same reason as Izzet:

The members who take the time and trouble to respond to posts whether they be fun or informational, the fact is my mum had a super 70th birthday day when I was in UK and this was made easier by the feedback I received from this board.

I love the fact that I can get:

1. A phone number in a flash ie Guido's the other week

2. Find gardener's and workmen

3. Feedback before using a service (and potentially feeling conned!)

4. Information on when and where to go to buy goods hard to find in TRNC

5. Information on buying goods in UK even!

6. The humour and jokes

7. The fact that members are willing to help others ie you DC when I was struggling to get a poster up on the events board.

This is the be
