If so, the final next week is between Ricky Whittle and Chris Hollins. Sorry - I know it's a bit pathetic

cyprusjoker - well, it isn't really, it's just that my husband is far more of a fan than I am. He even watches the 'SCT Take 2" every weekday on BB2 with the hideous Claudia Winkleman. And............... we cannot have a conversation whilst it's on, in case Len comes on and discusses 'fleckles' (or something that sounds like that) KEEEEEEEEEEEP DANCING

sienna - now, come on - I know my husband doesn't watch Strictly to see how little in the way of dance-wear Ola can get away with. Well, that's what he tells me and when I mentioned this evening that I'd considered getting something along the "dress" she was wearing to our works' Christmas do, he looked aghast. Any ideas why you think that was? Jean

Jeanie, I love it. Takes me back to when on a Friday night in my mum and dad's house the couch and chairs were pushed against the wall and my brother and his friends were given dancing lessons by my mum and dad (absolutely brill dancers) and I being 8yrs younger than my brother stood on my dads feet and he danced me round the room. (that was when the original Come Dancing was on the old tv.) Happy memories and my brother and I can still do a mean Cha Cha but I eventually mastered the quick step but only when my dad led me. Just love to jive.

Irene - I have similar memories. Sunday lunchtimes (Dad was at the pub from 12 - 2.) 2-way Family Favourites on wireless - Jean Metcalfe - BPFO 40 - and my (late) Mum determined to teach me how to waltz - 1 - 2 - 3, etc. Later found out that my Mum's sister (Auntie Mary) was a bit of an expert at the Jitterbug (hard to believe when I knew her) and that she got into huge trouble, and I quote, "Dancing with the Yanks down at the Town Hall" I still love to jive -wish my husband felt the same. Hope you are keeping well. J

Sorry to all for a personal post. Jeannie, thanks for that. I am doing fine. Stilll not back at work but not due to the crap earlier this year but due to the fact that one of the drugs the oncologist has put me on has raised my blood pressure. Hoping to regain control of life soon. My hubby is not too keen on the jive, so who knows one day we might just have that jitterbug togther. (I am 5ft so if you are taller you will have to do the male bit). Looking forward to meeting up with everyone at some point. One life and I still intend to live it to the max. Irene XX

Sorry again to all - am replying to Irene. I am 5'6" so, yes, I will lead (as we used to in the fifth year at school). You will be great (I just know it)and you and I will meet up one of these days for one of those jives (don't think my back would stand up to a jitterbug). I know we don't know each other, but ask Chris about the kiddies clothing that we gave her at Guidos - she knows us! Very much hope to meet, and, in the meantime, keep dancing (and, of course ,keep taking your meds) With love and very best wishes (keep in touch) Jean

Irene - Got to admit, not a great lover of Pinot Grigio. However, at present have a stinking cold and so am drowning my 'symptoms' in coffee and brandy. I'll tell you - I will definitely hold you to that dance. Please feel free to contact me off-board for a chat -nothing serious - as I said, Chris will verify that I am not a lunatic or (as some probably think on here) a complete harridan (Brinsley - are you listening, you old sod?) All joking aside, Irene - look forward to hearing from yoiu

Knew you we just as normal as Christina and I. It only means we need to get a bigger cauldren the coven is getting bigger! Hope you feel better tomorrow. Try your brandy as a toddy with hot water and sugar and a couple of Paracetamols. Might not cure your cold but you will get a good nights sleep. XX

As cute as Chris is, he does not deserve to be in the final, Ali Bastian is amuch better dancer, still thats joe public for you, Ricky Whittle is not consistent, imo Ali and Brian should have won it.

Its a sad state of affairs when prime time Saturady night telly on the 2 main channels has to be a choice between a bloody dancing competition and a talent show! The third alternative was over 4 hours of snooker. Rather watch paint dry!

Love it, its f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s there is nothing like sitting down with the fire on low with a glass of wine, some choccies and enjoying the frocks, the glamour, and the men are not too bad either! its the only voting show I ever watch, and although I have tried to take Alesha seriously as a judge I cannot, prefer Arlene. Jeannie, your hub is not alone I too watch the BBC 2 show every evening. Agree with the others Ali and Brian should have been in the final. LL

I agree, Brian is totally bowled over by Ali and I think they make a lovely couple, they were robbed as far as I am concerned. I hope it is true love and that it lasts for them.

Total B*ll*cks.. ..but I watch it , anyway, and regret the public vote for the personalities and not the skills .. trouble is I have to record it as we watch the Russian equiv.. but dancing on ice.. and have to turn off the phones until we have watched it ;) THEY WAS ROBBED.. so we were robbed of the best final. :(

I love watching it, and the professionals are fabulous. Normally a Pinot Grigio accompanies this pleasure, but as I also have streaming cold this weekend, I preferred mulled wine (any excuse) but brandy with coffee sounds excellent too! I was disappointed in the public's choice though, as the couple who were 3rd were definitely better. Yes, they do vote for personality and not skill (see J.Sergeant) At least X factor doesn't seem to do that as all 3 finalists were really good in their own way.

The final say should be with the judges and not the public, after all it is a dancing competition. ALI AND BRIAN WAS ROBBED :(
