After having my laptop on standby this morning, I came back to turn it back on and all the icons

start/skype/msn etc are along the top instead of the bottom

Tried to drag them down but they wont move, what have I pressed to make them go to the top

From a daft woman

1. To move the Windows XP Taskbar, you must temporarily unlock it. To unlock the taskbar, just right-click on the clock in the System Tray area of the taskbar (on the bottom-right of your screen) and uncheck "Lock the taskbar".

2. Now, click and hold on an empty area of the taskbar, then move your mouse down to the bottom of the screen. Your taskbar should move with your mouse.

3. Re-lock the Windows XP Taskbar after making changes. Right-click on the clock in the System Tray area of the taskbar (on the bottom-right of your screen) and check "Lock the taskbar".

Right click on any part of your desk top (not on an Icon) - should get "Arrange Icons by" top line - move curser over it and select how you want your icons to be displayed - easiest is "arrange by name" click on it

Hope this helps!

If it is the Icons on Right click on the tool bar (not on any Icon on the tool bar and select how you want the display!

Good luck!

Small point and I am no more computer wise than Sheila.

At a guess curently the clock (the 1.) might also be at the top of the screen - otherwise even I could work out what to do the instructions are clear and yorkie58 when it comes to computers that is a miracle

LOL - doesn't matter where the clock is, just follow the instructions but read it as "System Tray area of the taskbar (on the top-right of your screen)
