Just returned from 10 days with my Family and grandkids.

On arriving back at our appartment in Catalkoy late this morning we found that we have had stolen a 4 piece cream wicker garden furniture set.The 2 armchairs and table were on the back balcony, the sofa was on the front balcony. If anyone has innocently purchased these items between the 03/12 and 14/12 I dont care if I dont get them back all I ask is you let me no who you got them from.

To Pipie I am sorry you cant have these items now I no you wanted them for your daughters Xmas.

That totally sucks!!!! I am so sorry for you! However, i think that this is now a sign of the times...so people, lock up your stuff...Cyprus is NOT as 'crime free' as one would like to believe...

bb,

You must report to the police. How else will there be prevention of it happening again.

I know the police in Lapta get really uptight if you do not report the smallest incedent.

Plus the police here are quite efficient at catching people and confessions come quite easily, those station setps are quite slippy.

So get to the police asap for the sake of everybody.

I agree cyprusishome, BB should report it to the police.

If they get away with it once, they'll surely do it again. We really don't want Cyprus to end

up like UK.

Report to Lapta police? Is that supposed to be funny? When I went to report somethingh 18 months ago they told me to pretend the incident happened in Girne and report it there. Apparently they didn't have the right forms.

I spent a month at my villa near Lapta in spring and everything was fine. We are situated in an area with three tc families surrounding us. All has been well until one family member inquired as to us letting them have access to the swimming pool when we were not there. I politely refused their request. The next time a member of my family visited ( about 6 weeks later ) some wicker furniture had disappeared, a hammock, and a refridgerator which was under our barbacue. Now I'm not pointing the finger, but it seems to be too much of a coincidence that things have "walked". I have informed the police but to be honest I'm not expecting any culprits to be arrested !!

What are you trying to say in your post cos it makes no sense.

What's the "shut me up if you have the balls" tripe.

I have grown up over many years and travelled around the real world.

In my last post I stated that where "I" live my neighbours (TCs) don't sulk or insult me in anyway

as was suggested TCs do in your post 15

Well, good for you matey. Sad to say one of the problems we experience with TCs is that they do not like it if you are not happy with they want you to do. They are very good at sulking, and can become very angry if you do not conform to their idea of the average Brit pillock. It is a national (?) trait.

End of story.

Re Message 19

I have to disagree with you on that one, my neighbours (TC) are lovely people and have only ever helped and welcomed us, I trust them completely, perhaps some people are as you say but please don't tar everyone with the same brush.

msg 15: Don't tar them all with the same brush. I live in a penthouse. The owner of one of the ground apts. runs a plumbing business. About 3 years ago he started storing his stock outside his apartment. One day this stock was piled down one side and all the way along the back. I went down and asked him what he thought he was doing. He said that the owner of the yard he used had doubled his rent. I told him that wasn't my problem. I pointed out that 1/5th of the land belonged to me. He had taken over 1/2. I told him that if he wanted to buy my 1/5th I'd have my solicitor draw up a contract. Arriving home the following day he greeted me and we walked round the block. All of his stock had been moved onto his 1/5th and covered. He'd tidied the area. He asked if that was ok, I said it was, we shook hands and he invited me in for a drink. If he has a bbq he invites us, any small jobs he helps with, his son even cleans my car if I ask. He has never shown any ill feeling over the event

Just read msg 17: "shut me up if you have the balls" That's good coming from one with no pic, no e-mail and an address in Bavaria. I suppose with that level of anonymity and distance a chap could say the same thing to Mike Tyson. Aint the web wonderful for the ego.
