Touch down in Turkey

Hi,

I am flying back to the UK next week with Kibris Turkish Airlines.

In the past I have always used Pegasus & you land in Turkey & wait on the plane for 1hr then take off again.

My question is, with Kribis, do you have to get off the plane & change or just stay on the plane as with Pegasus.

There is no problem with this, just curious

You stay on the plane, unless like us a couple of years ago at Izmir we encountered an earthquake. They must have known because we had been escorted off the plane 15 minutes before the 2 sharp tremours, all the bottles and glass shelves rattled like mad.

Ive been lucky enough to only spend about half an hour in Turkey with KTC before. Also in 2006 they flew directlly there.

I have always had to get off and had as long as a 6/7 hour wait for connection. Both times to Birmingham via Istanbul.

CarrierBag are you sure you are not confusing CTA with Turkish Airlines as they fly to Istanbul & CTA do not, they use Dalaman, Antalya, Izmir to touchdown & you do not get off the plane.

If your are on Turkish Airlines flights then there is a change if on CTA flights to from BHX then you should stay on the plane for the change over of flight number.

On CTA / KTHY you will normaly stay on the aircraft unless you are flying through Istanbul for some reason. I assume you are doing Stansted and the flight will go through Dalaman, Antalya, Izmisr and you should not expect to change although you might have a passport inspection while touched down.

Sue Msg 13 - you had it right for Birmingham via Istanbul - I know as coming over from the Gloucestershire that is the better and effectivley cheaper route for us.
