About Cyprus44

We aim to create the best travel guide for North Cyprus..

Cyprus44 Forums allow travellers like you to ask any questions to community members living in North Cyprus and talk to other travellers who have visited North Cyprus before. It is a good place to ask questions about hotels, restaurants, bars and anything you can't find on our information pages.

I think the objectives of C44 are excellent, however I get the distinct feeling that some members think the forum is a medium for slanging matches and off topic comments which have no relevance to the TRNC at all. I would not normally write on the subject, however the latest [BLACKLISTED] topic by a regular contributor is pointless and serves no purpose what so ever.

Don't me wrong I post the odd joke or have a bit of banter with other members.

Mandolinen zongen zacht in Nicosia

In het middernachtelijk uur onder een hemel van azuur

Mandolinen zongen zacht in Nicosia

Hun exotische muziek, in een nacht vol romantiek

Mandomandolinen in Nicosia

Mandomandolinen voor Maria

De druivenplukkers trokken door het land

Andreas nam Maria bij de hand

Ze dansten en ze dronken een paar glazen

Maria raakte spoedig in extase

refrain

Mandomandolinen in Nicosia

Mandomandolinen voor Maria

[ Zangeres zonder naam]

Enjoy!

May I refer the honourable gentlemen in this case MR AJ to Article 8 of the Cyprus44 forum rules:

Do not post member specific questions. Eg. "Who is LittleIzzet?" , "John please call me today as I am leaving home soon" or "britvic - And I still have not found my socks yet"

A.J, How many odd socks do you think there are in the world? I reckon if you tied them together toe to toe they would go around the world twice!

britvic,

I beg to differ - if you tied them all toe-to-toe you would just have a very large bundle of socks, all tied together at the toe...

now if you tied the toe of each sock to the top end of the previous sock - that would be a different kettle of socks!

I can't believe that I just wrote that, or the fact that I'm about to press the ...

Mike

It is serving a purpose for me, I may be able to find my lost socks.

OK £5 to a charity of choice for anyone that can tell me who the author of this little ditty is:

It will be for the first correct answer.

RE msg 29, cyprusjoker: (...) Dutch Crusader, i thought your blacklist thread was brilliant, was it meant to be funny thou. (...)

=> Of course it was. Or? Do you really think that after five years on Northern Cyprus bulletin boards I take this bunch, the members of the DC fan club, these illiterate idiots serious?! If you do, you must be kidding. Have you read their messages, the appalling use of the English language?

* P.S. I've changed the language on my computer from British English to American English. So, no more hassle about advise/advice.

Hi Hans,

OK, no more advice about advising, but would you be able to refrain from using an adjective for an adverb, please?

Thank you so much.

RE msg 36, Rottolover: (...) would you be able to refrain from using an adjective for an adverb, please? (...)

=> Of course, Rottolover. I'll try. By the way, would you prefer to correspond here in French or German? Or in one of four other European languages? Advantage: we can make errors without the advantage of writing in our native language.

Sorry Hans, but it was you who criticised someone for their "appalling use of the English language"....

I couldn't be more respectful of someone who can use six different languages.

Mike

You are close, very very close. But I was just waiting to see if you had any competition. If there are no valid answers over the next 5 postings then I will be happy to pay £5 into the SOS fund nominated by yourself.

AJ

Whoops too late anyway you were the closest and the answer I was looking for was Spike Milligna the well known typing error.

Your £5 will be lodged with Lilly on Tursday.
