| A selective broad leaf weedkiller can be sprayed on lawns - but I don't suggest getting it near shrubs, trees or flowerbeds. Rhizomes and bulbs are notoriously hard to eradicate; so, multiple applications are usually necessary for Oxalis. This can be decided upon should this noxious weed exhibit re-emergence. It is unwise to spray any area to which household pets have access. Oxalis is only seasonal - rather pretty when in flower and doesn't seem to inhibit lawn growth in TRNC. Provided several light applications of NPK fertiliser are spread on lawns, they should be verdant, despite the presence of Oxalis. The alternative to chemical spraying is: get a goat - but not a 'Billy', cos he'll stink you out of house and home! |
