I have 3 shagpile rugs that I brought over with me 2 years ago from the UK.

They are hessian backed, and try as I might I couldnt get them clean so I was going to throw them out and buy new ones, until yesterday when I went shopping at starling in Alsancak.

The car wash man there was using his jet spray on a carpet, so I went and asked him the price.

For 10 lira, he washed my 4 x 5ft rug and now it looks like new, its taking a while to dry in this weather, but it has saved me a fortune.

I took my other 2 to him today and he did them while I waited.

Very nice man and very helpful

yes its normal to do them here at the car wash, most clean them in spring when its warmer then you can put them away till winter nice and clean, good eh x
